This recipe is very close to my heart, Ganesha aur meri, hum dono ki favourite 'Modak'. Ganesh Chaturthi aane wala ho aur mai Modak na banau aisa toh ho hi nahi sakta. So here's a very yummy Modak recipe in two ways. Dekho aur batao ki kaisi lagi!

Modak 2 Ways
Classic Modak
Prep Time - 30 min
Cooking Time - 15 min
Serves - 6 people or 20 pc
Ingredients:
For Classic Modak (makes 20nos)
For Filling -
Ghee (घी) - 1 tbsp
Coconut, Desiccated (नारियल) - 1 cup
Jaggery, Grated (गुड़) - ½ cup
Cardamom, Powder (हरी इलायची) - ½ tsp
Cashew, Chopped (काजू) - Handful
Pista, Chopped (पिस्ता)- Handful
Nutmeg, Powder (जायफल) - a pinch
For Dough -
Water (पानी) - 1 cup
Rice Flour, Very Fine (चावल का आटा) - 1¼ cup
Salt (नमक) - a pinch
Ghee, Melted (घी) - as required
Jim Jam Modak (makes 6nos)
Prep Time - 15 min
Cooking Time - 5 min
Serves - 6 pc or 3 people
Ingredients -
Glucose Biscuit (बिस्कुट) - 160gms/32 biscuits
Butter (मक्खन) - 40 gm/4 tbsp
Milk (दूध) - 60ml/¼ cup
Fruit Jam (फ्रूट जैम) - 3-4tbsp

It's like Bengali 'pithe' ... Same recipe , just different in shape .. we , Bengalis also use 'kheer' as stuffing and it's my favourite 😋
