I will never tire of Chekhov's work, what a wonderful thing to be so appreciated by readers 120 years after your death.

It helps that those in charge let it be known that punishment is an option.
It used to be people were less likely to remember birth and death days, except in association with holidays.
As much as degrees of authority are important to acknowledge, it is important to not let it partly or totally estrange families.

I never knew anyone can love to read this and loudly. It is strange how someone can read soooo long without making any mistake.

This has an ambiguous ending. I'm not sure exactly what I am supposed to take from it. There are things I got from it as it went on, but I'm not sure if the ending satisfied me. I see that he'd attained such a high place within the church and yet the closeness of the people wasn't there anymore, the relationships of genuineness weren't the same. This is why I think he made the statement that maybe he should have just been a deacon or just a monk. Maybe I'll have to listen to it another time.

Chekhov most profound and most-useful?, for large audience among other Russian writers. beside Dostoevsky and others, approach of Chekhov of the everyday life can reconstruct your vision, views of grayness to which you belonged before started noticing.

A confusing story which goes in trivial circles. The author has better stuff than this...
