Everyone assumes we can put it back together without instructions, but thank you for doing this. It's already an overwhelming job and by this point, you want it simple stupid without thinking. Just follow these directions until it's all back together without trying to remember or watch the video over and rewind back and forth until done. I like simple stupid instructions. Way to go the extra mile for us. You didn't have to video it, but you did. Thanks bro!

The most detailed tear down and reinstallation I've seen on UA-cam. Thank you for your time. You're definitely saving another VQ with almost 230,000 miles.

sometimes might sound stupid but mine have 350k + , and I want to fix.
this whole vid is like 75% talking about VQ30DE , but seems to be the same engine .
I really need to build and have it like new .
got to say everyone that comes here like , subscribe , share, lets help our NISSAN community.
and to the Channel we ( or myself ) very thankful for all that work and efforts to keep cam in every angle 🙌💪

This is complex enough that I don't think the engineers intended for it to be done. Pretty amazing you got it done regardless.
Now I'm a gonna GO AHEAD and hit the comment button.

Awesome 3 part video on this timing chain job. First engine start after the repair would've made it perfect =)

Wish you would show actual installments. I'm a visual learner and need to see all the fumbling about getting things in place. That is so I dont feel like I'm doing something incorrect when it takes 20 minutes to secure 3 bolts.
Going through the tedious little stuff; that makes this task dreadful, is more important than the actual understanding everything.

Only one gripe with the whole job: no oil cleanup. I know it's cosmetic but I'm sure this job is over a thousand dollars. I would be sure to pressure wash everything I took off and make sure it's both mechanically sound and esthetically pleasing. Otherwise great tutorial

Great series, thanks! Service manual mentioned to remove upper oil pan, was there a reason you didn’t?

I wanted to say, the videos you have done for this Nissan VQ35DE engine was absolutely fantastic! I wanted to ask one question, do you think this full timing chain replacement procedure would be the SAME for the 3.0 Litre V6 VQ30DE Nissan/Infiniti Engine? I would appreciate your input with regards to this. Thanks very much.

Hey man im having lots of trouble. The tube that goes from the egr up to the intake is conected to something completely different, but if i connect it properly then that hose that its connected to will be connected to nothing... is there any way you can show me so i can stop pulling out my hair?

How did you support the engine while dropping the oil pan? Excellent work!!!

Use a 2x4 towards and secure it on a hydraulic Jack. Don’t place directly under a pan cover or damage may occur but on the edge somewhere.

Great and Informative video! I followed the 3 part video to a T and helped me gain a better understanding on this job! However after installing everything and attempting to start my 03 Altima up it cranks but will not start. I rotated the crank over and over to ensure no valves hit the pistons and triple checked all the marks. I fear it may be off a tooth or two and I have checked over multiple sensors. Is there no avoiding going back in and taking the cover off? When I went to remove the cam bolts the right cam of bank one rotated and I set it back but it still could be off. Any advice?

Sheesh! How much did you charge for this job? Wonder if it's even worth it on an 03 3.5l altima, an 05 in this case. Impressive work and video, just a little scary when you have this car and the rattling at start-up.
