We Canadians are such sheep. We live under a system designed by a monarchy specifically set up to govern from an ocean away. We never changed much even under the repatriation of the Charter. At that time, there was an opportunity to change how members in gov could face real consequences for blatant corruption (all parties have been guilty ut the recent glut is unforgivable) such as recall legislation and / or binding contracts with consequences of legal action for breaches.
