Last week we linked back up with Houston artist Propain for a brand new “Off The Porch” interview! During our sit down he talked about his new album ‘Made From Scratch’, this being his first album in over 2 years, explains the title to the album, being an “album artist” and not chasing hit singles, feeling validated by fans telling him this album is already a classic album, explains what his fans mean to him, his fan growing with him, being hands on with some of the samples that were used on the album, the inspiration for his song “Karma”, Bun B narrating the album, Bun giving him his flowers, Bun headlining the Houston Rodeo, working closely with Big K.R.I.T. who produced 3 songs on the album, bringing a choir in for the outdo song “What Happens”, taking his time on certain records to bring his vision to life, putting Monaleo, That Mexican OT & BeatKing on “Hol Up”, still planning to drop a collab album with Z-Ro, his close friendship with Ro who recently threw him a surprise birthday party, the viral freestyle at the party, the inspiration for the intro song “City Cold”, working with Devin The Dude & Freddie Gibbs on “Always Down”, explains how “I Choose U” with Sauce Walka & OTB Fastlane was created, the inspiration for his song “Afraid”, being honest & vulnerable in his music, the inspiration for “Still Waters”, feeling like the quality of the music being released now has declined, Jay-Z texting Bun B showing him love, the mayor of Houston & the city recognizing him for his contributions to 50 years of hip-hop, giving back and doing a shopping spree for 25 kids during Christmas, going to Europe every summer, explains why he encourages people to travel, his relationship with Big Pokey, plans for 2024, and much more!
