  • For more than 30 years, Wen-mei Hwu has been an integral member of the University of Illinois Grainger College of Engineering. His brilliance in his work and his compassion for his students and colleagues has secured his legacy as one of our finest faculty members.
While we are sad to see him retire, we're eager to see what Wen-Mei does next as he joins NVIDIA as their Senior Distinguished Research Scientist.
We sat down with some of his colleagues and alumni to hear about what he was like not only as a mentor and colleague, but also as a friend.

I had Professor Hwu for ECE 411. He made that one of my favorite classes at Illinois. Good luck at Nvidia, Professor! I work at Intel now, so I guess that makes us rivals :)
