I think you and and Ashley should be given jobs as joint chief researchers at Graceland, I don't believe there's anyone better at finding long forgotten and obscure information, about Elvis, another top video but I have to agree with you that it's sad how the lakes been allowed to get in such a state.

Another fabulous “Elvis off road” adventure with the Spa Guy. I have been McKeller Lake several times, but that years ago and I am sad to see it in such horrible condition. Maybe the city will one day return it to it’s old glory. Also, and this is important, Billy, you are right about the boat. I wish we knew where that boat was or was hat became of it. Tighten up and SGF!!!!

Growing up in Denver during the 70's I was fortunate to cross paths with Elvis several times. We belonged to a travel club called Ports of Call that hangered their planes next to the private terminal at Stapleton International where Elvis fueled/hangered his plane. He was always surrounded by Denver PD officers and when he went to Vail the Jefferson County sheriffs department watched over him. I heard he bought one officer a Lincoln town car. The last time I saw Elvis in concert was the Spring of 76 at McNichols arena. There were screaming girls everywhere including my Mother and her friends. The last time I saw him he was in Vail, Colorado and he was in search of a black diamond. My neighbor new the jeweler he tasked with finding the black diamond and I think it had something to do with his album of the same name. Fun to watch, thanks!

I was wondering where Elvis took his boats, so was glad to see this video. I'm sure Elvis would be sadden to see the lake like this. It is sad to say the least, and I wish Memphis would clean it up. I'm sure the flooding has brought in a lot of trash too, but still it should be cleaned up and pride taken for the city. It would make a great site to visit for Elvis' fans. Now you have me wondering too, about these boats at Graceland! I hope you can crack this one Billy. Thanks for the time line at the end of the video, it was nice to hear it all come together. I always look forward to new Elvis video's by you because I know you will give us the truth on things. Thank you!

Definately am going to check out McKellar Lake on the web.
    Looking like Elvis liked boating.
Had 3 boats myself in the 2000s ...1st was an old fiberglass 13 ft runabout 35 hp & used it in the Fraser river & believer me learned by the seat of my pants... Lots of water flow in the Fraser plus tides push upstream ...3rd boat a nice 1996 Sea Explorer ( Arima. ) 16 ft but 7.6 inch beam designed to take rougher PNW waters...( 15 ft to 22 ft ) One day the tide was pushing up & big wind from the west...hitting against the flow or current of the river.
This caused standing waves. Literally the waves got to be 12-14 ft high !!!
I was very scared !!!! But got out of it & got back at the boat launch in Steveston Richmond BC.
I guarantee Elvis would have close calls boating on this lake.
    Boats zoom all over....
But the lake looked so much nicer 70 yrs ago.
Today everything just looks run down.
Elvis just tried everything....horses motorcycles karate drove his bus owned airplane owned ranch interest in cars , had big record collection, actor, of course singer musican piano guitar ( seen him with an accordion...in a pic but did he know how to play it? ) and now we can add in water skiing & boating !!!
Oh ya go carts plus flying model planes...This guy believed in having fun.

    • @AlA-ok5jh
      @AlA-ok5jh 4 роки тому

When I put 15 to 22 ft I did not mean height of waves. 15-22 ft is the dif. length that make of boat is available. My model was 16 ft in length.
Snow Spring melt or heavy rains create lots of water current outflow in the Fraser R.
Streams & other rivers by the 1000s feed into the Fraser R as it's 900 miles long.
So yes standing waves are created when a fast tide comes up river & hits against the high volume current ....
A wave is created that is like a wall or standing wave.
Yes was in those waves 12-14 or possibly higher ???
Not about to measure the wave with a measuring tape.
Never been so scared on the water.
Something tells me Elvis would of got scared too but he would of enjoyed it later...as he was a thrill seeker.
Me ... nope sure wish I never experienced those conditions. Ha!

Billy, i'm sure if elvis was alive today he would not be happy to see lake McKenna in this state. I know he would definitely do something about it to fix up lake McKenna. Im very surprised that Graceland / Lisa marie \ pricillia has not done nothing about it since they have all the pictures & archive's on elvis and what he did and where he has been & done. I am sure that there must be a picture of pricillia with Elvis on lake McKenna? Billy thanks for all your hard work as always !! 💖 all your Elvis history 🤗

      I christi,
Sorry for getting the lake name in correct I thought it was lake McKenna . Anyway , since the town, city or bourgh that lake mckella is located in I was wondering why no one is taking responsibility for this beautiful
lake that the famous one & only 'king of Rock🕺🎸🎵& roll' loved to go & take his friends & family out on lake mckella. ( boat). I'm sure this was one of Elvis joy rides. Do they even have a historic site sign that Elvis was here. ? I'm surprised that if the town did do anything , why hasn't epe, pricillia or Lisa hasn't stepped up. I'm sure if elvis was alive he would do something about it ? What do u think?

Arlene Cogan mentioned in her book that Elvis once picked her and her friend (I think Earl) at a dock in Memphis while he was out on the boat and was wearing that cap. ( I will see if I can find it for you). Also, in the book "Elvis Ignited" there was a family in Orlando that Elvis went to and they had taken him out water skiing. It was around 56. I will find that information too and pass it on to you as well. I am hoping the debis at McKellar Lake is addressed. It is a shame it looks that way. (Maybe e-mail those pictures to the city/State and it will get cleaned up.) Great video again Billy. I really enjoyed it.
