Little dissapointing when a rep from battlefront gets this many rules wrong...chafees in first turn dashed so can't shoot, in the second turn they didn't take the stabilizer penalty for moving and shooting..neither did the sherman command, then completely reversing it adding the modifier for the easy 8s that moved less then 4 and so take no stabilizer penalty (the whole point of easy 8s) the arrtillery range in didn't account for the template covering terrain which luca pointed out but said it didn't apply...he then states the half tracks are hit on 3s when the card that"s displayed clearly shows 4+.. Can't place artillery template within 4" of a freindly team when bombarding the half tracks the 2nd time. automatically using turret side armor on Pz IVs when it should be a 50/50 chance to hit hull front. Showing a "teaching" game and getting so many rules wrong seems counter productive. all of this is in just the first 2 turns...kinda silly
Lots of information for new players too follow. This is how a game should be done when it’s not a narrative campaign. The more communicative plays the better. Great job guys!
I dont play anymore or paint the miniatures Ive gotten old and my eyes arent what they were, but I always loved this game. Still have a huge German army, early, mid and late units, pz111s,panthers, pzIVs,tiger Is, tiger IIs, wespes flak wagons tons of half tracks and trucks, artillery, infantry, mortars, mg teams, snipers and leaders and other items, dice and some terrain ruins and trees. Got some british units enough to replay Wittmans wild ride through Villiers Bocage, a few american stands of units and some aircraft. Proud to say my german army was undefeated during the years I did play at a local game store. 👍
44:55 & 50:33 - can't move at dash speed within 8" of enemy teams, and can't contest objectives after dash :) Luka could've used movement orders & german stormtroopers in couple of places! Great battle report in general, and FoW represents the pinnacle of miniature games!
please, please ..... PLEASE !! make many more Flames Of War battle reports... There were some small "bugs" down the road, but overall a nice beginner game. Next time maybe throw some planes and flamethrowers into the game as well ... As these have some "funny" rules many thanks for showing and please keep up the good work
WAIT WAIT WAIT! :D Did he just used to roll 6 and the 5 rule for armor save?!?!?! :D That is rule used only for determining to hit (if modifiers ramp up). Pershing should not have had save at all. Just two FP rolls....
two observations 1. radio communications in WW2 most vechiels ha a raido with average signal distance of 10-25 miles. infantry units had a range of 3- 5 miles depending on the raido in FOW 6" seems a bit short. 2. as I study battles of WW 2 most bttles start with a artillery barrage.
1st part I agree with, in the previous edition in the rules command worked more like a chain instead of a bubble. for your second point other missions do start with artillery already ranged in, but "meeting engagements" are supposed to represent two forward elements just kind of running into each other and then turning into a more pitched battle. which is why the player with the first turn gets no Artillery.
I believe Americans are the only Faction to get full rof while moving, but it's at a penalty. It's called stabilizers. I loved the battle report, y'all made it fun to watch. Please make more.
Ok the cut to the pershing becoming a fire ball made me laugh outloud. Really nice Change of pace fun watch so far and really nice job talking out the turns for those who don't know the game.
At 22:00 you explain that you can roll a needed 7 by first rolling a 6 and then a 5. That is only true for to hit rolls. Also Stabalizeres are always +1 on the move.
Great to see you guys branching into Flames as well! Just some observations, So the Chaffees should have been at rof 2 yes, but importantly the stablizer rule that gives that comes with a negative modifier to the hit roll when fired. This is always in effect whenever the vehicle moves and fires its cannon I see you caught it on turn three : ) For the jagdpanthers against the pershings ap roll.. the rule he referred to about the six followed by a five or six is only for scoring to hit numbers on a 7 or 8. It is not part of the armour save rules. When the pumas were shooting the Chaffee, and you had a possible side shot on the turret, you are supposed to normall roll a die to see if you hit hull or turret. 1,2 or 3 is hull and 4,5 or 6 is turret. Auto penning in this instance makes sense as to why you wouldnt roll but important to clarify. When ranging in, short and tall terrain under the template increases the check by a penalty of 1, so when you were checking with the template both the hill and the trees were under the template. Also with ranging in, should always check to make sure nothing was danger close, for salvo this means a bubble of 6” that friendly units can not be within the template off. So that salvo strike on the german halftracks would not have been a legal shot. Lastly for artillery, and this is one I am bad with, you technically roll each model individually rather then assign the hits. When its four of the same vehicle its largely unimportant but still. So for assigning hits with regular shooting, often it is easiest to target the closest tank, but its not always required. If another part of the unit is valid to see and in the same range and concealment bracket, then theres no reason not to target them, especially if its a platoon of shermans with a jumbo. You could target the next back sherman as your initial target, rather then trying to bas through the jumbo first, if you want. The opponent Does get the chance to mistaken target the hit to another valid unit but yea. This ones more advice then a rules issue though : ) One thing that would help your germans is the use of movement orders, like blitz, shoot and scoot, etc. blitz allows a four inch move that allows the unit to count as stationary on a successful skill check for example. And one of the german special rules, stormtrooper, lets you attempt a second movement order on a unit that has successfully performed one, good use of these can help mitigate the Americans movement bonuses. That said, great terrain, great modes, and great game! And great to see you guys branching out into it! Looking forward to more!
Nice report and great to see you guys playing fow and looking forward to many more. I've noticed everyone has spotted the few mistakes you made but that will come with more experience. I've done a few reports myself and just wanted to know what you are using to film your game ?
Obviously the way being "careful" in open ground works is the tanks are angled toward the enemy and driving back and forth a couple feet to throw off aim like in World of Tanks/War Thunder lol.
Realy nice report, but You really need to be more careful about rules. Especially as this is great could be source for beginners. But again - really enjoyed watching it. Maybe You could add comments in moment when You missed the rules right now ...
Pretty sure, what they introduced as a "Hornise", while technicly correct should rather be classivied as a "Nashorn" (which btw was the only vehicle on record to knock out a Pershing IRL)
I believe the vehicle was originally called the Hornisse and after some very minor changes was renamed the Nashorn. So I guess technically these could be early production models.
@@mwgjosh5161 As far as I know Horrnisse was only used in very early production in general. Not sure, if it really was a model/version things as very few where made in the first place.
Sorry, but does Rob from BF actually know the rules and which US models are which ?. This is not a good introduction for beginners due to the number of rule mistakes.
Cheating Chaffees at 32:54? The Chaffees have the "Stabiliser" rule, which while it doesn't reduce their rate of fire while moving, it gives them a +1 penalty to hit. So that should have been 4 shots needing 5s.
I like the level and the detail you're doing here. It's a shame you're getting so many rules wrong! Stabilizers' +1 penalty to hit has been mentioned already. (doesn't the Chaffee have stabilizers? So its moving ROF is probably 2, but I don't know I don't have the card) And when you ranged-in the Caliope, the template covered terrain so there was a +1 penalty. (you rolled a 5 so it was still good) I'm surprised the Caliope doesn't have "TIme on Target" Please make more of these videos, but make sure you get the rules right. Edit: later in the video you start doing the stabilizers rule correctly.
Yes that's correct. They did get a few rules wrong, which was surprising considering they had a Battlefront employee playing, but its very possible that he doesn't play the game much.
Flames of War is a super fun game! Glad you guys are getting into it.
Little dissapointing when a rep from battlefront gets this many rules wrong...chafees in first turn dashed so can't shoot, in the second turn they didn't take the stabilizer penalty for moving and shooting..neither did the sherman command, then completely reversing it adding the modifier for the easy 8s that moved less then 4 and so take no stabilizer penalty (the whole point of easy 8s)

all of this is in just the first 2 turns...kinda silly
The Chafee dashed on turn 1, so they couldn't shoot. They also have stabilizers, so it'd be 2 shots at +1
Also rolling 7s or 8s is just for shooting.

Always a fan of more non-40K/AOS games!
I'm so happy to see FoW getting covered here! I love the scale and the scope of it!
Range In: at 38:48, your opponent needed a 5 to range in because the template covers terrain, regardless of whether you were actually in it.
Looking forward to sitting down and watching! Pressed the Like button despite the lack of T-34s
44:55 & 50:33 - can't move at dash speed within 8" of enemy teams, and can't contest objectives after dash :) Luka could've used movement orders & german stormtroopers in couple of places! Great battle report in general, and FoW represents the pinnacle of miniature games!
I have been waiting for a plastic king tiger for ever. Super hyped! Fun to see FoW on the channel!
I own several metal FOW tiger IIs I painted, used them for the battle of the bulge scenarios
please, please ..... PLEASE !! make many more Flames Of War battle reports...

So excited to see flames of war on this channel!
Definitely want to see more flames of war videos!
I hoped you will make FoW report and here it is. Good job, interesting mixed forces game. Waiting for more.
Now here's a game I can approve of! I've agreed to learn how to play and slo-gro an army next month so this should help a bit!

How did the chaffees shoot turn one? They did a road dash.. models that dash can’t shoot

Awesome always wanted to play Flames of War but never seen it played. Appreciate the game!
FoW getting some love?! Heck yes!
52:54 when double bailed out, you roll a motivation check with remount, not with last stand.
glad to see you guys dippi g your toes in some of the battlefront games
Great to see flames on the channel. A little surprised at the misplays.
Excellent 😃🎉 !!! Flames of war on Miniwargaming !!! 😃😃😃 I love it ! 👍🏻

Hell yeah, Flames of War! Keep it coming!
Do the new plastics still include crew figures for the open topped vehicles? They add a lot to those halftracks, jeeps and self-propelled guns
Most of the open topped vehicle kits include crew but a lot of people don't use them.
Ok the cut to the pershing becoming a fire ball made me laugh outloud. Really nice Change of pace fun watch so far and really nice job talking out the turns for those who don't know the game.
All these new games are great but boy do I miss the narrative campaigns. Great job boys!
At 22:00 you explain that you can roll a needed 7 by first rolling a 6 and then a 5. That is only true for to hit rolls. Also Stabalizeres are always +1 on the move.
I spotted that mistake too, the needing 7 or 8 just applies for To-hit, not for all rolls.
Great to see you guys branching into Flames as well!
Just some observations,

I thought it was weird that all the mistakes and oversights were in the visitor's favor.
That was kinda a slaughter, those 88s were brutal!
Nice report and great to see you guys playing fow and looking forward to many more. I've noticed everyone has spotted the few mistakes you made but that will come with more experience. I've done a few reports myself and just wanted to know what you are using to film your game ?
Awesome demo for a beginner. Thanks a ton for making me want to spend more money on minis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luna, which flavour do you subscribe to? Are you a Wehraboo, Teaboo, Freeaboo, Banzaiaboo or a Commiboo when it comes to vehicles and equipment?
The The Cor...the Cor...the CORLEONES!
Look how they massacred my boy 😂
Great game, good video thanks y'all. I have played since V1 love some good FoW batreps.
Loved it. Would really like to see some early war maybe in France or German vs English in Africa
Fow is real fun to play nice to see on the channel 😁
Great video!
Realy nice report, but You really need to be more careful about rules. Especially as this is great could be source for beginners. But again - really enjoyed watching it. Maybe You could add comments in moment when You missed the rules right now ...
The mad lads finally did it
Does this mean we could look forward to seeing more bolt action and konflikt 47 content sometime in the future? :D
I have to watch all my historical games on UA-cam because it's non-existent in my area.
Its been such a long time since i've played this. (though i don't think those are 75mms)
dat jagdpanther looks really sharp.
Nice to see FoW. It`s a great game.

I’ve made the same mistake before, the old version of Stabilizers is still knocking around in my brain lol
nice more fow plz
Thanks
Thanks so much for your support!
Yessssss!
Luka would like Elefants
Yes.
Wonderful
Sweet!
I like the level and the detail you're doing here. It's a shame you're getting so many rules wrong! Stabilizers' +1 penalty to hit has been mentioned already. (doesn't the Chaffee have stabilizers? I thouht you you rolled a die if the target had turret (or hull) facing the other way, and on a 4+ you hit the turret. Otherwise you hit the hull….
Yes that's correct. They did get a few rules wrong, which was surprising considering they had a Battlefront employee playing, but its very possible that he doesn't play the game much.
so, this guy is official, yet he cheats and makes up rules that are not in the book? c'mon!
The game looks great, but for auditory reasons I can't power through listening to it.
for the love of god, play a real historical please
