- Iron Mike Tyson spends an afternoon with Darren Peters talking about his favourite hobby - Pigeons! Tyson is the Birdman of Boxing with huge knowledge on Pigeon Racing. Filmed by Liam Galvin on Tyson's tour of UK.
This is the happiest and most genuine version of Tyson I have seen. He really loves his birds.

Mikes seriousness and happiness regarding the conveyer belt cleaning system just brings me joy. Also saying how the pigeon is strong and looks intelligent. He’s such an interesting soul.

He moved to Cali. I heard the pigeons in ringside were left to fend for themselves. That's sad if his pigeons became clincas, rats aka street pigeons.
Not gonna say money, but more time goes into racing pigeons than horse racing. You have to drive hundreds of miles early in the morning release them to train pigeons for a race. If you dont put in the work you dont get results.

I had the record with Canadian high flyers. In union city NJ. They went pin high for 6.5 hours with a roller in the flock. Danish and levats are some of the best high flyers. These are some nice birds. You have to be a pigeon man to appreciate life style

Mikes life was hard but he fixed it by doing what makes him happy. Its not hurting anyone and is geniunly heartwarming.
Its because mike never had no one but pigeons plus the pigeons would never hurt him or robb him and plus they kept him happy
I have a lot of affection for Mike. He's always had a big heart. You can really see it in this video. And he is far more intelligent than most people give him credit for. Just watching him interact with with folks always makes me feel good. Thank you Mike. You and Jerry Garcia are my lifetime heroes.

to be honest a lot of the big criminals from uk race pigeons, you can spend unreal amounts of money for a pidgeon if its a good racer lol ive seen them go for over £250k at auctions

seeing and reading on pigeons has inspired me to start my own flock and learn how to race them when the time is right. I've watched a lot of videos of Iron Mike Tyson and love how he loves his birds takes well care of them it's great. pigeons have been given a bad rap over the years no one sees the beauty in them anymore except a few people
Interestingly the pigeon breeders partly inspired the Origin of Species. Darwin studied the artificial selection of the pigeons and largely developed his understanding of natural selection from what he learned. The pigeon tribes are amazing creatures, some of the most successful animals and obviously have a profound relationship with humans.
I’ve grown with pigeons and even now at 35 I still have them,ones you have the passion for it it never gos away.and then when your tell others that u have pigeons they think about those on the streets...there’s so much to learn about pigeons and the sport,ones of the oldest sport ever☝️big like Mike Tyson.

Love the respect Mike have for the animals. I raise snakes and I love how he was firm in you want to change the water and feed trays manually. That's the best part to me because it's also time to interac with the animals and if you love them there's nothing better than that.

I once had a disoriented racing pigeon land in my yard. We were able to contact the owner after looking up her id band and got her back safely. She was 125 miles from home.

I remember when Mike have a secret loft on a harlem brown stone rooftop. It was very close to mind apartment and I would see him from time to time. I knew him so seeing him was no biggie. Not many people knew he was in the hood. After all these tears he still feel so at home around birds. I could only imagine how happy he is now 😊 he over came a lot 😢

Pigeon Racing is sadly in decline. Due to the expense and hawk problems. My grandfather and uncles all raced pigeons. I Remember my first involvement with pigeons going with my uncles to the club on friday nights. Setting the clocks for the race .And putting the birds on the train.Where they travelled to the race point. And released the following day weather permitted. Love pigeons. Great memories. Still a big part of my life today.

So many gansters and working class people around the world had pigeons. Same in Italy, same in Scotland and many other countries. Mike got into his first fight as some guy killed one of his pigeons in front of him as a kid and Mike beat the guy up and then started boxing after it

it was a baby pigeon that got lost and i found him
i thought it was thirsty so i took him inside the house and tried to give him some water
so i put his beak under the kitchen hose tap and let it drink some water
but the water pressure was too much for the little bird and i kept it too long under it
so i drowned him
