The difference between jimin and other kpop dancers is his elegance. When talking about the top 4. Kia, taemin, jhope, and Jimin. Each is unique. Hard hitting yet can dance with sexiness. But jimin takes it to another level. His body, head , and hands dance on their own. I think taemin is closest to jimin’s style. They both have a sort of feminine energy around them. If we go deeper, Jungkook is the one who is a mix of both Jimin & Hobi's style and recently Taehyung has found his own style where he absolutely slays. So I do understand what you were trying to say with top 3 but there was really no reason to remove JHope from top 4. And this is coming from Jimin biased, so no, I'm not trying to downplay his achievement. (Making it clear so any weirdo won't judge my whole Army life from 1 comment 🙏🏻)

At least One hour commute Can't wait to Muse. I am a 70 year old army. BTS found me when I needed them the most. They brought music and joy back into my life. No matter how many times I see Jimin's solo at MMA 2019 it mesmerized me the same way as the first time... His fluidity, elegance... oh! What is "weird" is he does very sharp and aggressive movements, but the outcome is so smooth! There are videos where professional dancers react to Jimin and all of them say he has a very personal way of dancing, that is innate and can't be learned. Fun fact... 50:00 for Jimin's blindfold dance with Jhope. Jhope led Jimin outas Jimin was blindfolded, whispered to him telling him which way he was facing etc to get his bearings and then he was all ready to go!! It's mind-blowing that Jimin could do that dance just like that but he is THAT good a dancer.

Black swan solo dance, his mini-dances of "Face-Off" and "Dance with you" on Insta, solo dances on MMA 2019 and MAMA 2016 blindfolded. My favorite of all is the opening show stage on SBS 2016, the ballet dance.

I learned so much about dancing through watching BTS!! Jhope on the street I learned about dances I never heard of .. but when I grew up we took tap or jazz or ballet lol I took up both Tap and jazz when I was young but growing up in the 80s to the pop and lock and all the hip hop dancing was truly amazing ! Seeing The boys dance just thrills me ! Jimin when he dances I can feel the music and feel his emotions !! He is just incredible !! I love watching Jimin dance !! He gets you into your feels lol

❣Jimin, growing up, since quite young age, even pre mid school, was always into hip hop & r&b music. Aside from Rain, Taeyang, & BoA, Korean idols, known not just for amazing vocals, but their dance ability, Jimin was also heavily influenced, with other role models, such as Chris Brown, & Usher. So it goes to follow he’d also appreciate other equally well known artists who also were amazing dancers & performers aside from vocal ability. It also goes without saying that Jimin, was indeed heavily influenced by MJ. He even taught Jin to moon dance for Dynamite MV, also Jimin was the one that suggested other MJ moves also for BTS song “Dynamite”. Chris Brown’s choreographer Brian Puspos who Jimin is actually close friend with, both having a mutual love admiration & respect for was the one that did the choreography for “Serendipity”. He even said that Jimin dances his choreo better then he does himself! Jimin has also worked with Puspos who restaged not only a Chris Brown song for Jimin before, but also Drake’s “Own It”. Jimin already at early age of 10, started studying hip hop at the renowned Just Dance Academy, in Busan, city where Jimin’s from, which teaches all the many different styles of hip hop. There is even a post made that shows a performance where young again 11 Jimin in 2007, not only performed already, on right front side of stage, but later on went in front and did a solo. JIMIN also competed, excelling in popping, & isolation moves, winning every competition. JIMIN also since a little boy, trained 8 yrs in various forms of martial arts: Taekwondo (blackbelt), Hapkido, Kendo, & Chinese martial arts. Side Note: When learning Taekwondo, as a little boy, I believe Jimin said that doing the splits was one of the first things required to be able to do. Also did same for contemporary dance. He said that he'd put his legs split, up against the wall for quite long, hrs at a time. This was aside from still attending middle school Jimin, where he was already into all kinds of sports, including being part of soccer team,, but also basketball, even joined after school billiards, also excelling in track & field throughout his schooling. Then, while going to Busan Highschool of the Arts, he then also studied & performed contemporary. Media even called Jimin “The rising star of Busan” after seeing Jimin perform on stage during a huge festival. JIMIN also studied, some ballet as well as even traditional Korean dance. But Jimin’s main love was always hip hop. Though he did enjoy dancing contemporary, which Jimin indeed excels at, to this day all his dance movements, have his exquisite body placement, amazing elegant, poised, clean lines, as well as he also always stands, even without dancing, with out-turned feet, his foot positions always end up while dancing in classical out turned foot position, placement that classically trained dancers have, with extensions all the way to his fingertips, even incorporating his eyes, & facial expressions! Jimin found he could express himself even more through contemporary dance. Very few dancers have the ability to dance as many styles of dance as well as have the ability to incorporate all of them, even his gravity defying, martial arts, moves in his dance. There’s a reason Jimin was not only give the official title of Main Dancer & Lead Vocalist, but has been awarded the prestigious titles for 5 yrs In a row, Best Dancer in Kpop, as well as 6 yrs King of Kpop. When Jimin dances we all cry from an overload of emotion. The popping and locking dance they showed, he is wearing beige trousers and a red sweater, school uniform, he was still at school in Busan. Probably only 15 years old. JK has also done some amazing getting up from the floor moves, and that last Black Swan dance was JK carrying Jimin, stunningly beautiful. Jimin in a dance battle on a Korean show, maybe 2014, is amazing.

Ppl are comparing Jimin with MJ, but this is not all ... Jimin's dancing style is a unique mixture of MJ and Fred Astaire/Gene Kelly dancing style, that’s why professional dancers said, he can't be coppied ... if we add his martialarts skills, it becomes even harder ... when I first saw him dancing, I was confused bcs I saw all of them in Jimin's performance ... recently I watched a video of bellet dancer who is also a teacher ... he is not only a ballet dancer, but also a master in a few martialarts ... he explained how important is the knowledge in both ballet and MA for dancers ... it looks strange, but Jimin is an example that confirms his explanation
I know it's the accepted fact that J Hope is the best dancer ..... however for me Jimin evokes emotion when he dances. For me it has always been the voices, songs, dancers or art that evokes emotion that I cherish and will always remember. Already Jimin has amassed a catalogue of iconic dances that I will watch and rewatch just for the pleasure of watching a dancer that evokes emotion from the tip of his index finger to his toes.

Jimin’s parts majority the highlights of bts MVs if u noticed its the most replayed parts. Even if the company gives him the least lines on a certain song, he still slays his part and still the most viewed or listened to. He always goes viral. His Fake Love fancam made history as the most viewed organically in 24hrs when fancams werent yet a thing before. After that every idol wants to surpass his records 😂 by bots mass streaming. He is the only musician in korean history to recieve 3 NATIONAL AWARDS. He also has the DANCE KING title. Bts instead of being a HIPHOP group became an IDOL group bcoz of Jimin. His contemporary skills made the group different from the other idol groups. Thats why new groups after them wants to follow their style. Theres no other JIMIN and BTS and Bigshit is lucky to have him. But the SABOTAGE is real.

@ destructive media, Park Jimin and J-Hope are the best dancers in my opinion of BTS! But there is a subunit of dance called the three J’s J-Hope,Jimin, Jungkook, these three members of BTS were just fantastic on point in the beat of the music they became one with the music when they danced and I wish they would come back in 2025 to do that again because those who are not OG army may not know about this trio .😑 What makes Jimin and Jungkook and J-hope of BTS Great dancers both in hip-hop/contemporary and modern is their timing with the music they hit every beat and you feel that beat when they hit that in the dance routine! I think J- hope who is like the dance instructor of BTS Who helps with the choreography and he learns it very quickly and I believe JiMin he learns it very quickly as well😊 This channel that is nothing but JiMin , Iwish they would make for each member of BTS because they have qualities in dancing and singing and rapping that stand out and should be shown in a documentary. Like a BTS Bible of performance for rookie K-pop idols and I think they are going to stand out and be compared to to the fifth generation of K-pop which is now present. Park Jimin is just an incredible dancer and his vocals are definitely different from any vocalist that you’ve ever heard. It truly stands out among 1,000,000 dancers💜👍
I agree that all 3 Js are great dancers, but neither Jhope nor JK have ever danced contemporary or modern. A few moves incorporated into some BTS choreos are not enough to judge their level in those genres.
@maggan2808, it is true that JK and J-Hope don’t do contemporary as well as JiMin but I would like to see them do the 3J’s again once they get back from the military maybe for the next Festa? And who knows they can learn to do many different types of dances and I would not discount JK or J-hope of BTS doing contemporary in the future anything is possible!
@laurahilliker5336 I agree. The more 3Js, the better. They are amazing together! But contemporary/modern (even at a good level) is not so easy to achieve. If Jimin had difficulties quickly adapting to hip-hop again (having danced it before), can you imagine the difficulty level changing from hip-hop to contemporary/modern, never having done it before? I've read a few interviews of hip-hop dancers trying but finding it just too hard. The ingrained set of moves and muscle usage, so different from classical dance styles, + the very strict discipline of how to position every single part of your body, again so different from hip-hop, were insurmountable for them.
The first solo black Swan performance was for their online Map of the Soul One concert. Truly stunning. The second you saw was with JK as the intro to MMA awards show in 2020. Again, stunning. What I think it amazing is that whilst Jhope is the HipHop king, dance leader and teacher, Jimin is the contemporary/ballet/freestyle/interpretive King who can also do HipHop so well and JK is king of power dances and more.. all three of 3J compliment one another so well and bring something different which completes 3J and BTS. But there is just something about the way Jimin dances which is always spine tingly amazing, often jaw droppingly unexpected and always precise. BTS are so lucky to have a contemporary specialist too, not many groups have anyone to get near to Jimin. Also, Bryan, you HAVE to watch Filter!!! How have you gone so long without it??? And Orange Haired Perfect Man Jimin will go down in history- even Shinee's reaction to it was legendary, they were so impressed. I'm sooo excited for MUSE

Re: choreo trivia, if it wasn't already said - the same choreographer did Dionysus, O.N, and Set Me Free, Pt. 2. Siena Lalao, from Hawai'i, and now in The Lab, an LA dance crew that works with them regularly in the states. She was only 19 when she did Dionysus. She is the first drummer you see in the Kinetic Manifesto Film along with The Lab. If you look into JK's Golden dance crew, they aren't any old dancers. It's as if he signed on his teachers and heroes - just like RM did on Indigo. Some of them have done choreo for previous BTS songs. Brian Puspos, JK's "right hand man", did Butterfly (just Jimin's solo? Can't remember.), some of My Time, and a lot of Serendipity, I believe. Just like how they write songs, if they are outsourcing choreo, one or more choreographers will contribute - and then the guys put their tweaks in. Their earlier stuff was mostly done by their Dance Director, Son Sung Duk, one of the infant company's band of geniuses.

Jimin also, all throughout his schooling, was known as a top scholar, achieving perfect scores, especially in math & science which just always came easy to him! Jimin was even class president for 9 yrs in a row! Jimin, all throughout his schooling, was also quite good in art class, as well as calligraphy. Jimin, then also took up contemporary dance. The media, after seeing a performance of Jimin's performing at a huge Busan Festival Event, called Jimin "The rising star of Busan"!! JIMIN also studied ballet & traditional Korean dance while attending Busan High School of the Arts. Jimin still went to Just Dance Academy to take hip hop classes whenever he could because his first love has always been hip hop, even though he was now majoring in contemporary! JIMIN even had an offer to dance overseas, but declined because he also wanted to become a singer since the 2nd grade, to the dismay of one of his dance instructors who said "The world of dance was going to lose a great artist"!! ✨Actually Jimin worked with Jin more then anyone even pre debut as well as rookie yrs. Jin, since the very beginning has said that Jimin's such hard work ethic, inspired him to never give up and keep practicing as well. JImin's made a point of helping coach Jin, especially in the beginning, on all the dance moves he needed to learn, even staying longer in the practice room coaching Jin til he got it right. Jin has even said how he actually prefers Jimin’s style of coaching and teaching dance, as opposed to J-Hope, since he has such patience and perseverance, plus such faith, support & encouragement. Jimin in turn has said that Jin has brought joy into Jimin's life by teaching him not to take life so seriously and how to laugh more. Jimin has also coached RM, who he indeed is also quite close with, helping him with dance moves as well, especially during the more contemporary dance moves such as Black Swan. You could even see the difference in RM’s dancing with Jimin’s help by coaching him. Jimin actually oversaw & coached the rest of the members, especially for Black Swan since it’s more contemporary, and Jimin is the only BTS member who has been trained in classical dance! Also other members had difficulty dancing barefooted, which Jimin ironically even prefers. So he tried to help them in anyway he could so to help them of the discomfort. J-Hope & Jimin have different ways of going about coaching. But ultimately J-Hope is the dance leader, meaning he’s the one that first watches & learns the new choreography for new songs, then overseas the other members to make sure everyone is in sync, also since he’s so good at noticing the details. He overseas, whenever the in-house dance coaches aren’t around. 🙏😅👍🥰🤩
I think the scenes that were blurred were from Seo Taiji and Boy's 17th Anniversary concert. It would be under a different copyright owner. That is a historical event, btw. Seo Taiji is the "Father" of Kpop, starting back in '96 bringing subversive lyrics and hip hop to Korea, and the concert is an obvious baton hand-off to BTS.

The difference between jimin and other kpop dancers is his elegance. When talking about the top 4. Kia, taemin, jhope, and Jimin. Each is unique. Hard hitting yet can dance with sexiness. @@angiedracul6562 These Top three are more on contemporary or modern dance side. But if we talk about other genres, I don't think anyone can surpass Hobi in that. If we go deeper, Jungkook is the one who is a mix of both Jimin & Hobi's style and recently Taehyung has found his own style where he absolutely slays. So I do understand what you were trying to say with top 3 but there was really no reason to remove JHope from top 4.
And this is coming from Jimin biased, so no, I'm not trying to downplay his achievement. (Making it clear so any weirdo won't judge my whole Army life from 1 comment 🙏🏻)

No matter how many times I see Jimin's solo at MMA 2019 it mesmerized me the same way as the first time... His fluidity, elegance... oh! What is "weird" is he does very sharp and aggressive movements, but the outcome is so smooth!
There are videos where professional dancers react to Jimin and all of them say he has a very personal way of dancing, that is innate and can't be learned.

Fun fact... 50:00 for Jimin's blindfold dance with Jhope. Jhope led Jimin outas Jimin was blindfolded, whispered to him telling him which way he was facing etc to get his bearings and then he was all ready to go!! It's mind-blowing that Jimin could do that dance just like that but he is THAT good a dancer.

My favorite Jimin dances are the ones that contain contemporary elements. Black swan solo dance, his mini-dances of "Face-Off" and "Dance with you" on Insta, solo dances on MMA 2019 and MAMA 2016 blindfolded. My favorite of all is the opening show stage on SBS 2016, the ballet dance.

I learned so much about dancing through watching BTS!! Jhope on the street I learned about dances I never heard of .. but when I grew up we took tap or jazz or ballet lol I took up both Tap and jazz when I was young but growing up in the 80s to the pop and lock and all the hip hop dancing was truly amazing ! Seeing The boys dance just thrills me ! Jimin when he dances I can feel the music and feel his emotions !! He is just incredible !! I love watching Jimin dance !! He gets you into your feels lol

Jimin is a genius ❤ very amazing dance
❣Jimin, growing up, since quite young age, even pre mid school, was always into hip hop & r&b music. Aside from Rain, Taeyang, & BoA, Korean idols, known not just for amazing vocals, but their dance ability, Jimin was also heavily influenced, with other role models, such as Chris Brown, & Usher. So it goes to follow he’d also appreciate other equally well known artists who also were amazing dancers & performers aside from vocal ability. It also goes without saying that Jimin, was indeed heavily influenced by MJ. He even taught Jin to moon dance for Dynamite MV, also Jimin was the one that suggested other MJ moves also for BTS song “Dynamite”. Chris Brown’s choreographer Brian Puspos who Jimin is actually close friend with, both having a mutual love admiration & respect for was the one that did the choreography for “Serendipity”. He even said that Jimin dances his choreo better then he does himself! Jimin has also worked with Puspos who restaged not only a Chris Brown song for Jimin before, but also Drake’s “Own It”.
Jimin already at early age of 10, started studying hip hop at the renowned Just Dance Academy, in Busan, city where Jimin’s from, which teaches all the many different styles of hip hop. There is even a post made that shows a performance where young again 11 Jimin in 2007, not only performed already, on right front side of stage, but later on went in front and did a solo. JIMIN also competed, excelling in popping, & isolation moves, winning every competition. JIMIN also since a little boy, trained 8 yrs in various forms of martial arts: Taekwondo (blackbelt), Hapkido, Kendo, & Chinese martial arts. Side Note: When learning Taekwondo, as a little boy, I believe Jimin said that doing the splits was one of the first things required to be able to do. Also did same for contemporary dance. He said that he'd put his legs split, up against the wall for quite long, hrs at a time. This was aside from still attending middle school Jimin, where he was already into all kinds of sports, including being part of soccer team,, but also basketball, even joined after school billiards, also excelling in track & field throughout his schooling.
Then, while going to Busan Highschool of the Arts, he then also studied & performed contemporary. Media even called Jimin “The rising star of Busan” after seeing Jimin perform on stage during a huge festival. JIMIN also studied, some ballet as well as even traditional Korean dance. But Jimin’s main love was always hip hop. Though he did enjoy dancing contemporary, which Jimin indeed excels at, to this day all his dance movements, have his exquisite body placement, amazing elegant, poised, clean lines, as well as he also always stands, even without dancing, with out-turned feet, his foot positions always end up while dancing in classical out turned foot position, placement that classically trained dancers have, with extensions all the way to his fingertips, even incorporating his eyes, & facial expressions! Jimin found he could express himself even more through contemporary dance. Very few dancers have the ability to dance as many styles of dance as well as have the ability to incorporate all of them, even his gravity defying, martial arts, moves in his dance.
There’s a reason Jimin was not only give the official title of Main Dancer & Lead Vocalist, but has been awarded the prestigious titles for 5 yrs In a row, Best Dancer in Kpop, as well as 6 yrs King of Kpop. Jimin is called Stage Commander for a reason, his stage presence is on another level. Jimin is also called “Rookies Bible” because all rookies look up to him, watching his erformances. over & over, trying to emulate, & learn from his unmatchable, flawless, precise moves. So many trainees & rookies choose his songs to try to copy when competing, though even without singing, but just focusing on dance, always still fail to even come close.👍🙏❤️🔥🔥🐥🥰🤩🌟✨

When Jimin dances we all cry from an overload of emotion.
The popping and locking dance they showed, he is wearing beige trousers and a red sweater, school uniform, he was still at school in Busan. Probably only 15 years old.
JK has also done some amazing getting up from the floor moves, and that last Black Swan dance was JK carrying Jimin, stunningly beautiful.
Jimin in a dance battle on a Korean show, maybe 2014, is amazing.

Ppl are comparing Jimin with MJ, but this is not all ... Jimin's dancing style is a unique mixture of MJ and Fred Astaire/Gene Kelly dancing style, that’s why professional dancers said, he can't be coppied ... if we add his martialarts skills, it becomes even harder ... when I first saw him dancing, I was confused bcs I saw all of them in Jimin's performance ... recently I watched a video of bellet dancer who is also a teacher ... he is not only a ballet dancer, but also a master in a few martialarts ... he explained how important is the knowledge in both ballet and MA for dancers ... it looks strange, but Jimin is an example that confirms his explanation

I know it's the accepted fact that J Hope is the best dancer ..... however for me Jimin evokes emotion when he dances. For me it has always been the voices, songs, dancers or art that evokes emotion that I cherish and will always remember. Already Jimin has amassed a catalogue of iconic dances that I will watch and rewatch just for the pleasure of watching a dancer that evokes emotion from the tip of his index finger to his toes.

Even if the company gives him the least lines on a certain song, he still slays his part and still the most viewed or listened to. He always goes viral. His Fake Love fancam made history as the most viewed organically in 24hrs when fancams werent yet a thing before. After that every idol wants to surpass his records 😂 by bots mass streaming. He is the only musician in korean history to recieve 3 NATIONAL AWARDS. He also has the DANCE KING title. Bts instead of being a HIPHOP group became an IDOL group bcoz of Jimin. His contemporary skills made the group different from the other idol groups. Thats why new groups after them wants to follow their style. But there is a subunit of dance called the three J’s J-Hope,Jimin, Jungkook, these three members of BTS were just fantastic on point in the beat of the music they became one with the music when they danced and I wish they would come back in 2025 to do that again because those who are not OG army may not know about this trio .😑
What makes Jimin and Jungkook and J-hope of BTS Great dancers both in hip-hop/contemporary and modern is their timing with the music they hit every beat and you feel that beat when they hit that in the dance routine! I think J- hope who is like the dance instructor of BTS Who helps with the choreography and he learns it very quickly and I believe JiMin he learns it very quickly as well😊

Iwish they would make for each member of BTS because they have qualities in dancing and singing and rapping that stand out and should be shown in a documentary. Like a BTS Bible of performance for rookie K-pop idols and I think they are going to stand out and be compared to to the fifth generation of K-pop which is now present.
Park Jimin is just an incredible dancer and his vocals are definitely different from any vocalist that you’ve ever heard. It truly stands out among 1,000,000 dancers💜👍

I agree that all 3 Js are great dancers, but neither Jhope nor JK have ever danced contemporary or modern. A few moves incorporated into some BTS choreos are not enough to judge their level in those genres.
@maggan2808, it is true that JK and J-Hope don’t do contemporary as well as JiMin but I would like to see them do the 3J’s again once they get back from the military maybe for the next Festa?
And who knows they can learn to do many different types of dances and I would not discount JK or J-hope of BTS doing contemporary in the future anything is possible!

But contemporary/modern (even at a good level) is not so easy to achieve. If Jimin had difficulties quickly adapting to hip-hop again (having danced it before), can you imagine the difficulty level changing from hip-hop to contemporary/modern, never having done it before? I've read a few interviews of hip-hop dancers trying but finding it just too hard. The ingrained set of moves and muscle usage, so different from classical dance styles, + the very strict discipline of how to position every single part of your body, again so different from hip-hop, were insurmountable for them.
The first solo black Swan performance was for their online Map of the Soul One concert. Truly stunning. The second you saw was with JK as the intro to MMA awards show in 2020. Again, stunning.
What I think it amazing is that whilst Jhope is the HipHop king, dance leader and teacher, Jimin is the contemporary/ballet/freestyle/interpretive King who can also do HipHop so well and JK is king of power dances and more.. all three of 3J compliment one another so well and bring something different which completes 3J and BTS. But there is just something about the way Jimin dances which is always spine tingly amazing, often jaw droppingly unexpected and always precise. BTS are so lucky to have a contemporary specialist too, not many groups have anyone to get near to Jimin. Also, Bryan, you HAVE to watch Filter!!! How have you gone so long without it??? And Orange Haired Perfect Man Jimin will go down in history- even Shinee's reaction to it was legendary, they were so impressed. I'm sooo excited for MUSE

Re: choreo trivia, if it wasn't already said - the same choreographer did Dionysus, O.N, and Set Me Free, Pt. 2. Siena Lalao, from Hawai'i, and now in The Lab, an LA dance crew that works with them regularly in the states. She was only 19 when she did Dionysus. She is the first drummer you see in the Kinetic Manifesto Film along with The Lab.
If you look into JK's Golden dance crew, they aren't any old dancers. It's as if he signed on his teachers and heroes - just like RM did on Indigo. Some of them have done choreo for previous BTS songs. Brian Puspos, JK's "right hand man", did Butterfly (just Jimin's solo? Can't remember.), some of My Time, and a lot of Serendipity, I believe. Just like how they write songs, if they are outsourcing choreo, one or more choreographers will contribute - and then the guys put their tweaks in. Their earlier stuff was mostly done by their Dance Director, Son Sung Duk, one of the infant company's band of geniuses.

This was while also attending middle school, where he loved sports, being quite athletic, joined the football team, excellent at track, great at basketball, & billiards! Jimin also, all throughout his schooling, was known as a top scholar, achieving perfect scores, especially in math & science which just always came easy to him! Jimin was even class president for 9 yrs in a row! Jimin, all throughout his schooling, was also quite good in art class, as well as calligraphy.
Jimin, then also took up contemporary dance. The media, after seeing a performance of Jimin's performing at a huge Busan Festival Event, called Jimin "The rising star of Busan"!! JIMIN also studied ballet & traditional Korean dance while attending Busan High School of the Arts. Jimin still went to Just Dance Academy to take hip hop classes whenever he could because his first love has always been hip hop, even though he was now majoring in contemporary! JIMIN even had an offer to dance overseas, but declined because he also wanted to become a singer since the 2nd grade, to the dismay of one of his dance instructors who said "The world of dance was going to lose a great artist"!!
So Jimin then went and auditioned for BigHit Entertainment, (company BTS is signed with), being the very last member to officially join BTS on January 12, 2013, (exactly only 6 months before BTS debuted), being a trainee for only a few months (which is unheard of for most Kpop idols), as opposed to the 2-3 yrs of being a trainee the other members had! But Jimin was so good that he was assigned the official title of one of the two Main Dancers, as well as Lead Vocalist. Jimin was even assigned most of the high notes since the very beginning, because even without all that training in the beginning, he was that good, a natural born singer who, just like his dancing makes you feel every emotion and feeling he's trying to convey!
JIMIN, also, for 8 yrs, since a quite young boy, trained in various forms (4), of martial arts: Taekwondo (Blackbelt), Hapkido, Kumdo (Korean form of Kendo), & Chinese martial arts. He even won a scholarship, the only student to do so, to study more extensively in China for awhile! All the martial arts training has given JIMIN his phenomenal inner core strength, as well as his amazing flexibility, which has enabled Jimin to achieve all those breathtakingly spectacular gravity defying dance moves! JIMIN has found a way to incorporate all his various dance disciplines, as well as his extensive training in martial arts into his unique, ever so special, outstandingly amazing dancing abilities!!
JIMIN, has been called 'Stage Commander', known for his amazing, so mesmerizing stage presence. Each dance move is executed flawlessly, his extensions all the way to the fingertips, his lines so clean, his fluidity, his poise & elegance, his ever so graceful moves, but yet, sharp, quick & deliberate when required! He focuses on every detail! Known for his work ethics and being a perfectionist to a fault, spending hours in the practice room, will study every move, even focusing on hands to fingertips. Even his facial expressions, or the look in his eyes! Every single detail he focuses on. Jimin tends to take in the music and interprets all the emotion & feelings, whatever it's trying to convey through his body movements as well as his vocals.

✨Actually Jimin worked with Jin more then anyone even pre debut as well as rookie yrs. Jin, since the very beginning has said that Jimin's such hard work ethic, inspired him to never give up and keep practicing as well. JImin's made a point of helping coach Jin, especially in the beginning, on all the dance moves he needed to learn, even staying longer in the practice room coaching Jin til he got it right. Jin has even said how he actually prefers Jimin’s style of coaching and teaching dance, as opposed to J-Hope, since he has such patience and perseverance, plus such faith, support & encouragement. Jimin in turn has said that Jin has brought joy into Jimin's life by teaching him not to take life so seriously and how to laugh more. Jimin has also coached RM, who he indeed is also quite close with, helping him with dance moves as well, especially during the more contemporary dance moves such as Black Swan. You could even see the difference in RM’s dancing with Jimin’s help by coaching him. Jimin actually oversaw & coached the rest of the members, especially for Black Swan since it’s more contemporary, and Jimin is the only BTS member who has been trained in classical dance! Also other members had difficulty dancing barefooted, which Jimin ironically even prefers. So he tried to help them in anyway he could so to help them of the discomfort. J-Hope & Jimin have different ways of going about coaching. But ultimately J-Hope is the dance leader, meaning he’s the one that first watches & learns the new choreography for new songs, then overseas the other members to make sure everyone is in sync, also since he’s so good at noticing the details. He overseas, whenever the in-house dance coaches aren’t around. 🙏😅👍🥰🤩

Seo Taiji is the "Father" of Kpop, starting back in '96 bringing subversive lyrics and hip hop to Korea, and the concert is an obvious baton hand-off to BTS.
