Visited Parham in 1969 when I was in the US Air Force at Mildenhall,, not much then.. My dad was stationed there till Oct 14, 1943...shot down.... All I ever heard him call it was Framlingham.. I went looking and stopped in the town and ask around till someone remembered Parham...My dad Fred Smart had even dated the caretakers daughter at the castle.

My Grandfather was Dick Chin, Staff Sergeant, 568th Bombardment Squadron 390th Bombardment Group, Army Air Force, 1942-1945. Air Medal, EAME Theater Medal, Purple Heart. Airplane Armorer Gunner, Air Offensive Europe. Wounds received in action, France - Jan 21, 1944. his plane was shot down over Germany, and he was taken POW. Most of his squad didn't make it. When the war was over, he returned to San Francisco and became one of the first American Chinese Realtors in the City, running a successful office in Chinatown for many years.
