My ex and I were looking to buy and we walked through an open home one Saturday. The realtor was there and they looked so stressed. As we made our way through the house we walked in to the master bedroom and there was porn all over the walls. Like painted porn murals. I’m no prude but it was a lot. We then walked in to the bathroom and there was a heavily tattooed dude with piercings, long hair…the works, sitting there with a snake on his shoulders. There were enclosures all through the bathroom with lizards, snakes, turtles. Dude looks at us and says “don’t mind me, I’m just here to keep an eye on the reptiles.” As we left the realtor thanked us for coming…we could see the defeat in her eyes 🤣🤣🤣

Your decor in the old house sounds like a lot of “I have adhd and I’m traumatized” which same when I escaped I ended up with a theme in every room 😂
You had trolls calling your realtor? OMG those losers need jobs and lives. I had my house all in warm earth tones, which I loved, but I moved after my husband's death to be closer to family. I went a completely different route in our new home with blues and cool tones, just to make it feel different for me and the kids if we were forced to make a new start.

Yea you def lucked out with your RE Agent… but for the most part, it’s just paint yknow… i know some ppl can’t see beyond that when looking at the property but you sold it so you don’t gos worry abt it now… i always wanted to do my half bath in black at my old house…i put a mini chandelier in the w/c (It was sectioned off in the master) but that way it’s really like sitting on your ‘throne’ 🤣 it was super cute. Wellll.... I can tell you that I live in one of the more sought after neighbourhoods in my city. Have I had a pleasant experience here? No. Why? Because my neighbours are junkies on one side, on the other side they leave there dog out permanently and we experience every season, including freezing cold Canadian winters. It's near a park with a wooded area which brings soooo much creepy crawlies, flying things, and rodents/small animals...... mail is never safe. Packages are neeeeever safe.
Good neighbourhood doesn't equate to good or safe neighbours.
Bad neighbourhood doesn't equate to bad or unsafe neighbours. 🤷🏼♀️ just the way it is.... people are people and their amount of money doesn't directly correlate to their personality traits or ability to be a good decent human/neighbour.
The point about the seasons was because WHO LEAVES A DOG OUTSIDE IN THE FREEZING COLD WINTER?!?! He's outside permanently 24/7. I can't even tell you the amount of times the city/animal control/police have knocked on my door asking about my neighbours.

Tbh I'm not sure about the removed pantry, but the green kitchen is not too bad an idea. I think I would like that. The projector screen was a good idea too, just maybe needed more intense curtains for those enormous windows to get it working.

I did the same thing after I left my abusive ex. Painted my room black, ceiling too. 6yrs later & I'm not feeling it. I'm going to paint it mauve, I think & I got some cool wallpaper for an accent wall. We do what we do at the time to heal. Painting 3 coats of black paint on those walls was cathartic af & I don't regret it for a second. I will when I'm painting over it, though 😂😂😂

I’d love to paint rooms black (I’m goth and am all about living in the dark due to issues with my eyes) but I’m disabled and will never be able to afford to buy a house. My apartment is completely painted a dark red though and I love it.

I once glued seashells to my bathroom wall and got 3td degree burns, plus painted an ocean midway up the wall with 3D white paint to resemble sea foam and craft sand with tiny cocktail umbrella and little terry cloth Barbie sized beach towels, I thought I was super creative. 😂
