Brilliant....what a start to this day....to any day actually. The tradition of "the brass band" MUST be preserved where ever it still exists. Perhaps there are places in the US that still joy in this, but I don't know of any in New England. HOw blessed to have hearing say I when I encounter this and its like.....
Love the cornets sound. I am a NZer and -played flugel in A Grade for years. NZ cornet players do not get this sound. Kyle Lawson is the only one and he is I believe principle cornet of Brighouse now. I played for Rotorua Brass many years. We were conducted by Colin Clayton whose father Elgar had been with (I think) Faireys before emigrating to New Zealand. Our band did get a more English sound than other New Zealand bands. Our principal cornet, Steve Thompson had a sound close to the English sound.
Cracking sound (especially bass trombone when playing an octave lower than written) :-). Great performance though some noticeable slips and tuning issues.
Great performance ..but FFS will someone please write some new marches and ban Knight Templar / Senator / Ravenswood etc etc .. People have been playing the same old stuff for the last hundred years !!
As a young brassbander back in the early 90’s, this one ripped my head off the first time I heard it, if it’s so boring and overdone, what do you suggest we point the next generation to instead?

Fab sounds from ALL the basses and the Bass Trom,.... Add a touch of Sop on top of that !
