@@lesleyelalami2562 Negligence isn't a zero-sum game. There were multiple steps in the chain in which people should have shown due caution. Baldwin wasn't just an actor, he was also a producer, and one of the people who had been informed of safety concerns just before the incident in question.
Point being, there's at the very least a case worth trying here. I don't know if he would have been found guilty or not, but that was a very real option. It wouldn't have mattered if the armorer was *more* to blame, both could still be to blame.
Either way though, we'll never know, because the prosecution undermined the justice system.

@@katharinathen821 That is definitely a very important practice, but one can imagine in the case of an actor such as Alex, the people providing/responsible for these "props" should be also doing that and looking out for the whole team. EVERYONE should be held accountable here, not just one person. I don't know if those people were also held to account or not. It is just sad, because Alex had faith in the people who were supposed to be handling that for him. Can you imagine the shock when he fired that gun and someone died when it was supposed to be a prop? Horrible. That makes me angry for him. He was either set up or someone was REALLY negligent and he was the one to take the fall. The fact that these prosecutors are just going to go on with their lives, maybe with an L in their W/L ratio, is really disgusting because they learn nothing but to be more careful with how they withhold evidence the next time.

When caught they just shrug their shoulders as iof it doesn't matter. This doesn't surprise me at all. Right now, I would never trust a Prosecutor's word. A 180 when I started 40 years ago.

For those of you who have as have I followed this case, it has been apparent for some time that the prosecutors and the police were acting way too arrogant. In their mind, they had made the choices, they made the decisions, they were the law, that they were the case. They had lost their focus on who they are and who they really work for. A prosecutor and the police must never forget that they work for the people. The choices are not their choices, the decisions they do not get to decide. Society long ago has made the choices and the decisions. The police and the prosecutors are required to follow the law as it is written, not the whim of one or the other. The judge made the only decisions she could make based on their conduct
Coincidentally, this is the same focus we have seen abandoned in our Supreme Court’s decisions of late and our national politics. Americans need to do as this defense Attorney and Judge have done and draw the line in the sand. Now, and 100 times if needs be, we the people must draw the line in the sand. The line is well known by those knowledgeable of faith and conscience and the law. We must remind our courts and our leaders. Now is the time!

@@sammy-ix3eh I agree that no one should have ever handed this absolutely irresponsible imbecile a firearm of any kind. Clearly he can't tell the difference and he doesn't know anything about proper handling of a firearm. When I was at basic training, they handed everyone five blanks and told everyone to load them into a magazine and then load the magazine into the firearm at all times, just to see who the nitwits were. I witnessed at least two negligent discharges due to mishandling. They should have been discharged from the service then and there before they killed someone. Never, ever point a gun barrel at another human being. Unload, clear, check and discharge in a safe direction. If you can't do that, you shouldn't hand someone a gun. Blanks can kill, and they killed Brandon Lee on the set of The Crow.
