There are a lot of wrestlers that I love to watch, but none of them move me the way that watching Dave does. It’s like he was the living embodiment of everything good in wrestling. RIP.
Dave was a master technician on the mat and by all accounts a great guy - a true abmassador for the sport. Killed by a lunatic. RIP Dave Schultz. Your beloved sport is alive and well and the USA is kicking ass.
This is wild. Schultz seems to like these turnover situations, as though he is entertained by back and forth shows. The Cuban grabs his foot and Schultz does the same thing right after, just to make a point or to keep the show going. He was a showman. He also did like twisting knee and leg tendons and ligaments...in his opponents. Orthopedic surgeons certainly owe Schultz for increases in their patient load all over the world...
I never wrestled. I know all about this guy regardless. A TRUE LEGEND !!He was already a legend before the tragedy😢 Check out the dan gable wrestling museum and hall of fame in Iowa if you like this kind of wrestling history. It will not disappoint.
@@steventhury8366it’s the Russian influence. Cuba has phenomenal Judo and gymnastics programs. Those are much more the domain of the Russians. The one sport that is more distinctly “Latin” for them is boxing.

To be fair i couldn't beat Dave Schultz at anything and he's been dead for 27 years. He is still the man.
How many points did he end up with?
No matter what the position is Shultz had 5 counters. The guy was the most intelligent wrestler of the era
Dave had "Split Sole" before "split sole"

Flat worked him over with that front headlock
RIP DAVE!
why was he carrying the cuban flag at the beginning?
The referee was soft, Schultz true gentlemen
Both men died on his 30s
Mental note for the Cuban wrestler. Please stop shooting to Dave’s lead leg - your probably not gonna score and your probably gonna get scored on
This cuban guy had beaten him too.
Interesting how a little Country like Cuba, that are as poor as church mice, can have such good wrestlers.
Hard times create strong men. And I think the Soviet influence in the past played a big part too.
@@CoachesCornerWrestling-ue9mt Agree, but Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Central America has next to nothing in wrestling.

Because the gouvernement use the sport like communiste propagande. But they are not free Mans, they are slaves
and baseball players. That’s the American influence.

I would say that I could feel my heart swell, but same idea…
