Gfriend's choreo when they were rookies were some of the most difficult choreos for girl groups at the time and they helped raise the standard for girl group choreos. Their choreo is also clever and fits their songs very well. They just nail it for me! I recommend checking out the dance practices for their songs Me Gustas Tu, Fingertip, and Labyrinth. And a lot of newer kpop idols have even said they learned the choreo to Me Gustas Tu as trainees!
The choreo for Loona's song Butterfly is honestly one of the best choreos in kpop and I wonder how different it would've turned out if the song was made and choreographed just a few years earlier.
I respect GFRIEND for paving the way with difficult choreography! Loona really was impressive during the dance practice for sure!

Loona are incredible! I really love their dance for PTT, their live performance is really stunning. This is the first time I've seen WJSN and GFriend before and really enjoyed those as well. I'm a big Dreamcatcher fan so I'm always going to enjoy their dancing.

Dreamcatcher is known for having some of the more difficult and distinct choreos. SCREAM, BOCA and Odd EYE are more spectacular(almost theatrical). Dreamcatcher are also a concert focus group. (They hit different)
From stamina perspective Dreamcatcher have the most hardest choreos, their songs almost always in up-beat rythm, with some complicated hand moves someone should give some credit to them aswell, not only for the big groups

Chase me was dreamcatcher's debut song so they have improved a lot even more over the years! 😁 Scream has to be one of the best dance practices 👍 Also deja Vu (the end of the dance is the reverse of the beginning)

Gfriend in theri rookie years, they have powerful innocent concept where the songs are very cheerful but with complex movements. In their 2018-2020 career, they have passionate melancholic concept and their moves are lyrical and contemporary dance

even tho i LOVE Apple i feel like for Gfriend to stand out against THOSE kind of choreographies, Love Whisper, Fingertip, Navillera, Me Gustas Tu, Glass Bead, man, even WHITE dance practice would have been a better choice to compare. Let's not forget they literally RAISED the standards for girl group choreographies DURING THEIR ROOKIE DAYS (2015-2017)!!! No other girl group was doing choreos that complicated and synchronized until they came along. I feel like after Time for the Moon Night they've gained a lot of experience and focused on telling a story with their choreos rather than trying to stand out the most with the hard-hitting, powerful, energetic type of choreographies...which is what got them attention in the first place and literally shook the nation😂. Real Buddies (their fanbase name) know why they left such a big impact on the industry and made their mark as one of the Best performers in kpop history! That being said I suggest you react to more of their dance practices, especially the old ones!

All four of these groups are brilliant, but Loona just takes it to another level. And Dreamcatcher does a great job, especially with their rock vibe.
loona choreographies are all fire and they're all amazing dancers.
Dreamcatcher always says that their hardest choreo so far was still chase me because they say in there they barely had enough rest during the choreo
They did a real good job! They made it look easy!
Dreamcatcher definitely executes the choreography differently from the other groups shown. Their choreography has both masculine and feminine elements to it. For example, the hits are done more powerfully to compliment the rock vibes compared to most girl groups who move very elegantly and gracefully. You also notice they utilize a lot of arm movements and ripples, which is often found in choreographies for girl groups.

For GFRIEND, the choice of the group is really good, but i'm not a huge fan of the song personnaly. I think there are better songs and dance practice from GFRIEND.
I would'nt think to put DREAMCATCHER on the list for a dance practice. They are really good in terms of dance and choregraphies, but when i think of them i prefer to watch the MV which are generally really cool. I hope you don't miss the MV of CHASE ME which is really good.

To be honest, I don't see loona as a girlgroup (nor a boygroup either lmao). I'm not saying tho that they're way up league but what I mean is that all girlgroup choreos are really meant for girls and ladies, sexy, girl crush, put on some swag, interpretative hand movements also with the body rolls and flexibility its amazing and all, not to mention these idols are really talented esp Gfriend with their synchronization...
But LOONAs choreographies are always so different like some kind of a dance crew in a dance competition with their imagery and acrobatics showing off a pleasing sight to see. There's always a lot to breakdown and with all the things going on with the one in the front, others doing other things on the side, others doing their thang in the background-- its just so breathtaking you actually need to pause each frame to see what they did there and no one... I say, I've never seen a kpop group do that before.

To me the best WJSN choreo, is Dreams Come True. That song choreo is SS-Tier. But nowadays they have gone to mature vibes, as what they have shown on Unnatural and Easy.
Glad you came back so quickly with the dance practice reaction. Loona's "Butterfly" is a standout. Many thought it's the best in 2019. Understand how it caught your attention here but glad you recognize all the groups for good dancing. Choreo is an art form that's more than just synchronization and hitting the beat with power. Different styles would appeal to different people, but as you said, good dancing is good dancing regardless of genre.

There's a lot to take into account when judging dancing. I will say that to be fair to each group you should compare groups of similar sizes. Loona and WJSN can make more complicated imagery and formations due to their size and also project more energy with less effort. Gfriend and Dreamcatcher have fewer members and so they have to rely on better technical skill and precision so they don't exhaust themselves. Really small groups like Blackpink and Mamamoo aren't really expected to dance well and so you will often see a combination of stage presence and rotating center time. SHINee and aespa are small groups that I would say are great dancers.
Another factor is experience. The Dreamcatcher video you watched was from their debut era and that matters for a few reasons. JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Yoohyeon, and Dami already had two years of experience plus their time as trainees while Handong and Gahyeon had a lot less so the choreography may have been designed to mask their lesser experience. You said Yoohyeon caught your eye and since she's the tallest that's not surprising. It seems like she was used to draw attention to the center s lot while the dance line set the energy level throughout the performance.
Here's a short list of great dance practices: The Eve - EXO, Endless Night - Dreamcatcher, Hip - Mamamoo(this is more for fun but they actually sing while dancing so it's worth a watch), and So What - Loona.
i think very hard doing some choreo and position for small group member. Takes more effort and need more creative sense compare choreo for large group member, to much empty space and movement.
They're all fantastic groups, but everything feels slow compared to watching Dreamcatcher lol! Which is pretty much with their known for-having more complicated and fast-paced choreo, but also just having "harder" moves in the sense that, just like you said, they pack a bigger punch. They don't focus on looking sexy or elegant and their choreography is considered very gender-neutral because the moves they do and the way they do them aren't typical for girl groups. In fact, they cover a lot of boy group songs with the original choreo, too! Would love to see you check out their boy group dance compilation and their performances of My House and Bang Bang Bang.
Also, the girl in the Adidas shirt was Yoohyeon! She's not officially part of the dance line, but she is very noticeable for her straight lines and excellent hip isolation.

You should check some more loona dance practices, they are on another level! Most synchronized group of Koop, watching them dance is like a trip. I recommend loona paint the town dance practice
I'm a huge Dreamcatcher fan and I think their choreographies and dancing skill are top tier.
But...
Going up against Butterfly? Ooof. That's a tough one to beat. Many people, including myself, think Butterfly is one of the best, if not _the_ best choreography in kpop.
