Another fun remake of this song. Rob & Austin were great as the leads & of course the other guys added their special touches in the background. Always enjoy Tim's low growl. The guys all had such funny grumpy faces, especially Tim. Like how it started in black & white & then shifted to color when they put on the glasses. I noticed they had the same girl & guy who were the fire dancers in "Playing With Fire" in the background as extras.
If you like the song,,, better forget this version and check out the song as 3rd piece of the Hunter Hayes Trilogy. The band absolutely kill it,, which sadly they don't do here in the new version.
This is quite a disappointment. If you've heard either of the previous versions, you'll remember the passion and intensity that Austin brought to it. This new version has about as much passion as last week's lettuce. Lame in the extreme. The video is tacky. Why switch the lead? Rob s a stunning singer but he doesn't convey smouldering passion as Austin can do without breaking a sweat,, so we get lyrics about insane love delivered in a mid-paced cosy sort of way. I have never associated HF with disregard for the lyrics before,, but this is just silly. Everyone else picks up the inertia bug and eventually the song slithers to a halt. Energy levels about 50%. As for the video, why do the band keep hiring EF to make their MVs,, when the company has previously delivered disappointments, mainly down to inept editing? There is a single idea here (borrowed from the horror film They (sometimes called They Live Amongst Us). Nothing else much happens. Rob's suit turns red. The original girl dances around (several times), We get a lingering shot of girls' legs (a first for Home Free, who are all married men of about 40, which makes the shot even more unappealing).. Otherwise, cheap tat. The form of the song has long more or less disappeared, and the EF editor as usual does little to rescue it. I mostly love HF's MVs, and many of them are masterful. I just hope we don't get more like this.
