Celebrating Christmas 2015 with Turkey, Carols & Cake!

Christmas is not all about buying gifts and having lavish feasts; it is much more than these things! To me, Christmas is about celebrating and sharing God’s gift of love that was given to us through a baby boy born into this world two thousand years ago. His purpose is to give love to our world that is broken. And we love because He first loved us.
7 years ago, my husband and I decided to break away from our family’s traditional Christmas celebration and set our own tradition in celebrating our Lord Jesus's birthday. This is done not only with family members but also friends that are alone this season. Before dinner, we will take some time to be still and reflect on the gift of love we have been blessed with and in turn what gift we would like to offer to our Lord. For it is written in Psalms 96:8: ‘Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; bring an offering and come into His courts.’ After which, the celebration begins with lovely food, joyous carols and an abundance of laughter around the table!
