this is the most useful video I've seen on mech mods on UA-cam, it is 8 years old but it is still gold, thanks for explaining mech mods in such detail.
This is probably the first video that is actually helping me understand what’s going on here and giving me hope in a future with a mechanic mod. I think I’m going to go ahead and order everything I need now, now that I have a better understanding. Thanks bud If you have anymore advice or tips or recommendations please let me know.
I like this. Concise, no BS, and essentially impossible to misunderstand. I did already know all of this, I was just curious how it would be explained, and after watching it, if I made a video on the topic, it would have been very much like this. 👍
yoww this video is very helpful to me who's just a newb and planning to buy a single batt mech mod. Thanks Sir! Well explained! Now i know what to do and how to build a safe full mech mod. :>
Hey I would like to thank everyone for all the comments it makes me extremely happy that o have been able to help some of you understand these devices. God Bless and merry Christmas
Absolutely right Tony this video was done years ago before any real testing was done on batteries. What we know bow is the efestis a 20 amp battery and 35 amp for up to 60 sec. Safely. Please keep in mind this video is like 8 years old
Literally the one part that always confused me was the Amps and you basically spoke to me like I was 5 years old. Thank you for that and now that I have the answers I need im not scared to finally use this mech lmao The only part I want to speak up on is the "This battery says I can use up to 35amps" sadly this is not true... Never trust wrappers at all. Always do some research and look for Moochs tables. Most battery companies lie through their teeth on packaging.
Thank you.... That’s all o ever wanted ! “Explain it to me like I’m 5 years old” Thanks to you I now know that my friends have let me build too low for weeks 😒 Who needs enemy’s right ? 😂
This video is fucking great! Currently im thinking of getting a mech mod but since i don't have a lot of money, i was thinking i might build one myself (im used too working with lathes, milling machines and a bit of electronics). And this video just removed all doubts i had. Thx very much! I will surely build my own now.
This was a great help. Can I ask some questions sir..? If the battery 30A, what amps should be there to build I mean the safest.. What can you recommend it should be 20below this was safe? Please give me in between or let say ohms like it should be reading in between .2ohms to .45ohms?pls notice, thank you have a good day.
Well it depends if it's protected or unprotected. But realistically when your battery ggets down to 3.4 or 3.5 volts it's very noticeable all of a sudden the build you had on there that was rocking 75 watts at 4.2 volts is now only pushing 25 or 30 watts because your battery voltage has dropped and this changed the parameters. A good way to see this in effect is to use any old ohms law calculator and enter in your voltage at 4.2 and the ohms of the build and check the wattage output and then make the voltage can be from 4.2 to 3.1. And each the wattage difference. Is huge. And when camping the difference in cape quality is unreal
go get some sugar in you mate... good video btw! main reason of using mech mod is basically it's virtually indestructible... vv/vw are awesome but fragile... i vape both btw... love my incubus and my le petit gros!
I am very happy that this video has helped so many people understand this system. And thank you all so much for your support please like and subscribe if you like this video and I will do a series of these to better understand different aspects such as ohm load builds and sub ohm. As well as battery capability. God bless
Thank you. The shorter [wraps] or fatter [thickness of wire] the wire the lower the ohms the more unsafe it is. Never had that explained that way. How high is too high of the ohms. Never build above this ohms.
mutehowl well big ohms is never dangerous as it gets higher the less heat will be produced when activated and the less amps will be drawn. It's not really true the fatter the shorter the more dangerous. You can build cloud makers safely you just need to ensure you have a battery that can handle the amps. Vtc can do 35 amps sustained without issue and there are 40 amp batteries out there. If you look it's hard to be able to draw on a 35 amp drawing vape. You are talking .12 ohms to pull 35 amps that's freaking hot so just make sure you are within safe limits use an ohms law calculator and a reliable ohms meter
Yeah charles thats right the battery would need to be rated for a constant draw of 18 amps. That being said the next inevitable question usually is how do these cloud chasers build down to .01 ohms qnd not explode the battery. The answer is every battery has 2 ratings a constant and what's called a pulse some high end batteries have a pulse rate which is a 10 second safety rating of upwards of 60 to even 100 amps. Please remember if building for pulse rating the battery goes in you take a hit away from the face to test first always and the second you are done the battery comes out of the device. The reason we build for constant draw is at some point everyone will throw your device in your pocket and shortly after feel a burning sensation on your leg. Only to find out that you have had the button pressed for a few minutes. Anyways i hope this helps. Most budget batteries are good for 15 amps i say most because there are 10 and 7.5 amp batteries. There are even 3 amp batteries but if you buy from a reputable company most have the amos listed if you dont know it and cant find it dont buy it is my general rule but there are sites dedicated to battery testing now days so search that up. I use samsung for my sub tanks and sony or ohmlife or amped for my builds and if you are ever storing batteries buy tunes for them. Nothing will wreck your day faster than throwing a battery in your pocket with some change and having it make connection. Although the youtube videos are entertaining you definitely don't want to star in one
Nice one mate. The only question I have in my mind is why anyone would use one of these when regulated microprocessor mod boxes are so cheaply available.
Yeah the shakes are bad I get that a lot so here is why I shake. When i was 11 years old i got sick and had a fever of111 degrees. That destroyed a small portion of my brain that controls fine motor.controlresulting in me having the shakes like that
Do NOT use the voltage specified on your battery! Fully charged it will output 4.2v on a 3.7v battery. It will drop to 3.7v quite fast, but you will be putting 4.2v through there at first which you should be prepared for. (You atleast should check what influence it has on your build) For example, for a .2 coil, it's a difference of like 20W and 2,5A so not totally neglectable. Atleast, if the battery even can handle a coil that low. (Here you should stick to continuous amps it can output, not the pulse max)
Do I need to know what my battery is putting out or is it ok to just charge it up throw it in the mech and start vaping until you think it needs more charging. Let me know. Thanks
You can use any ohm generic ohm load calculator for figuring out basic amps drawn. Keep in mind battery safety is often very overstated. For example when you buy a battery that is rated for 30 amps it's continuous draw. The 10 second boost on that same battery is likely upwards of 150 amps. This is a somewhat controversial fact. I am by no means suggesting to build to that but. .012 ohms is not an unreal build on a 30 amp battery
So there are 35 amp batteries. All of the Sony vtc series are.35 amp as well as the purple bats I can't remember the name and lg makes a 35 amp as well. Keep in mind that these ratings are sustained on there is also a 40 amp you can buy I will find links and post them but as I say these are sustained ratings if you are building for clouds all of these will have 10 second burst rates in excess of 70 amps if you build to the burst rate its imperative to remove the battery between each use
I watched this video because I wanted to know the difference between how my regular silver plate contact squonks work compared to my driptech. I now assume that the driptech works more like a tube mech with the body of the mod carrying the current. If I am wrong please politely explain it.
joseph fiorini thanks for taking the time to watch this so there are only 2 kinds of mods really one is variable and the other is mechanical. You can bet that if the mod isnt able to change the voltage up and down it works like this the other option is the variable or chipped that uses the power from the battery to power a small computer chip that then allows you to choose your wattage in that cas4 the post and neg are directly wired to the chip set
First I would like to thank you for our reply, I have a druga dripper and I am using the nichrome n80 24+36ga and I usually do a dual build with 5 wraps each to get an ohm with 0.25 or something. I read that vtc6 has only 19 amps so I should stay below 0.25 or what? thanks so much for your support
Reviewhaya well from my understanding and I would hav3 to check the site again but the VTC series are all 30 amps conservatively rated and the 4. 5. And 6 just indicate capacity the 4 is 1600 May the 5 is 2600 and the 6 is 3200.
You go by rhe CD rating when using ohms law nothing else the vct6 is a 20a battery the vct5a is a 25a you can not allow the battery to reach 80c as this thing is when it will start to vent pushing 40a on a 20a battery is never a good thing
I want to understand bc I want a mech mod. I understood most of the video but got lost when you put .14 in the calculator. Where did that number come from
You do realize how long ago I made this lmao you are the guy.tjat sees a review on a 57 vette and says they have trouble with the computers lol when this was released magnetic buttons were almost unheard of only a few of the highest end mods had magnetic buttons and those cost upwards of 600 to 800 dollars so at this time I owned a vape shop and had never even seen one a few months after this the first realistically priced magnetic button mod came out it was the F4U mod complete shit by today's standards but at the time wow everyone was vibrating with excitement but thanks for the comment and as I said blue loctight because its designed to be taken apart I used it for 8 years and never once had an issue taking anything apart ever. Red loc ttigt is designed for permanent installs and would cause a problem but blue just stops the pin from free wheeling
wickedeagans so 3.7 is a nominal voltage which is code for average by when building you need to account for the maximum voltage the battery holds when fully charged and that is 4.2. The lowest before cut off on a protected battery is.usually 3.3volts but sometimes you can get down to 3.1v be warned though damage can start occurring with voltages 3.3 or lower and under 3 v the lithium will refuse a charge all together.
I was afraid of using a mech mod because I didn't understand stand shit and every video was so complicated im going to get a heavy hitter with some samsung 30t i already have the best batteries but need a few more
There are no 35a 18650 batteries that is a 20a you should know this if your using a mech -. - and on top of that you should be able to do the math yourself not use a calculator v/r=a its as simple as that
Everything was going great till he said he puts lock tight on his switch screw threads! Lol, this guy don't worry about cleaning his switch or maybe upgrading it to a magnet if needed! Lol, I also wouldn't trade with this guy, you'd never get that switch apart without destroying it!
Charles Work so Charles the battery gives a nominal voltage but there is a full voltage and an empty voltage full is 4.2 and empty is 3.3 we always work off the maximum voltage when building coils
this is the most useful video I've seen on mech mods on UA-cam, it is 8 years old but it is still gold, thanks for explaining mech mods in such detail.

Billy The Kid I am so happy u could help brother anything else I can do just ask bud
Thanks to you I finally have a lightbulb above my head in the year 2020
HOLY SHIT this is the first video that opened a whole new window for me, thanks A LOT and thumbs up sir
This is how it should be explained, very simple with a simple diagram , thank you so much for this info
All the other videos were confusing to me
I like this. Concise, no BS, and essentially impossible to misunderstand. I did already know all of this, I was just curious how it would be explained, and after watching it, if I made a video on the topic, it would have been very much like this. 👍
Thank you! Now I can START having a conversation with the engineer,
Great Vid Dude! No other vape youtubers ever explain all of the science
Is it just me or does this guy sound a little like Tom Hanks at times? Good video! Thank you.
yoww this video is very helpful to me who's just a newb and planning to buy a single batt mech mod. Thanks Sir! Well explained! Now i know what to do and how to build a safe full mech mod. :>
WOW. I think this is the best video I have seen about ohms. TY
Hey I would like to thank everyone for all the comments it makes me extremely happy that o have been able to help some of you understand these devices. God Bless and merry Christmas
Best beginner mech mod video out there
Damn really explaining it like I'm 3 yrs old. I know how mech mods work but this would have been super helpful when I first got my mech

Dope video and I now understand and it is just that simple I subscribed so I hope there's more to come THUMBS UP BRO
Folks in the vaping world always fail to break things down for the “dummies” like myself.....THANK YOU SIR!!!!!
this is the perfect video explained everything i needed to know to get started thankyou
Thank you....
That’s all o ever wanted !
“Explain it to me like I’m 5 years old”
Thanks to you I now know that my friends have let me build too low for weeks 😒
Who needs enemy’s right ? 😂
This was so clear! Thank you❤️
thank you. new to this
I bought a squank mech mod and want to switch out the sqaunk tank for another one i have, does it matter what coil or tank i use?

watched many videos on mech mods. this is by far the easiest to understand.
Wow great job. I understand fully now.
This was a great help.

Stupid simple , thank you.
How do I figure out my ohms without that tool you have?
This filled in all the information the other sources I went to didn't

Sometimes it just seems harder and more complicated than it is
Thank you, that was very informative.
I dont understand why the voltage is always set at 4.2? If my 18650s are labeled 3.7 Vs should i put that in the formula or 4.2?
use the voltage on your battery, so 3.7, usually it'll have a max voltage of 4.2

I actually get this now!
Great vid. Can you do one on first time with hybrid tops?
Yeah he sounds like Forrest gunp hee hee 😁👍
You can use any ohm generic ohm load calculator for figuring out basic amps drawn. Keep in mind battery safety is often very overstated. "Because it's DC, we don't get electrocuted." That had nothing to do with it being DC.
I know right, they make freaking comic books. What's that have to do with vaping?!!!!!!!!
So there are 35 amp batteries. All of the Sony vtc series are.35 amp as well as the purple bats I can't remember the name and lg makes a 35 amp as well. Solid except the fact that that battery is not even close to 35A continuous, gotta check Mooch charts.
Lay off the dope bro.
i cant
Daaaaammmmn you shaky af bro lol. You okay? 😂 For real tho, good video. Thanks 👍🏻
Lmao
i read this in a black man voice without having any control idk why 😂😂
i think we have the same vape. is that a trident?
I watched this video because I wanted to know the difference between how my regular silver plate contact squonks work compared to my driptech. I now assume that the driptech works more like a tube mech with the body of the mod carrying the current. If I am wrong please politely explain it.

Get a new battery. Vtc6 is not for mechs. You will have a bad time.
Great vid.. But why are you shaking?
I want to understand bc I want a mech mod. I understood most of the video but got lost when you put .14 in the calculator. Where did that number come from
It was just a random number he used to show you what the amps and watts would be for that particular ohm rating
Thanks very helpful
When mudfossil university vapes.
Why do we always type in 4.2 when the batteries are 3.7?

topspeedjunkie1 oh ok. Well thank u very much for that info on answering my question
Remember when building coils that you must use the maximum charged voltage.to be safe so not 3.7v but 4.2v
Why the fuck are these things so god dam expensive?
Nice video man. Thanks!
But please, next time don't shake your hands too much. Lol
I was afraid of using a mech mod because I didn't understand stand shit and every video was so complicated im going to get a heavy hitter with some samsung 30t i already have the best batteries but need a few more
johny sins??

You are saying 4.2 but your battery says 3.7
Charles Work so Charles the battery gives a nominal voltage but there is a full voltage and an empty voltage full is 4.2 and empty is 3.3 we always work off the maximum voltage when building coils
So we always use 4.2v when we calculate. So a .233 needs at least 18 amps to be safe?
Never calculate the lowest voltage. Always calculate 4.2 as thats the full charged voltage
16 Watts is nothing wtf
Good video but i don't see any reason to use this over vv/vw
kay
Your shaking is out of control. I cant even listen to what ur saying. Calm bro. Jesus!
test
