If I am not mistaken THIS was her 2nd performance, her first EVER was "picture to burn". and she was taken aback by the response because we are talking about the ACMs or CMAs which at the time (I believe) did not have dramatic performances like this one. at least it was one comment that I heard a lot at the time, *no one was doing country shows with the "visuals and dramatics" of pop concerts or shows.* and that has always been part of Taylor's "brand"
This was the performance that made a Taylor fan out of me. During the first part when she's nervous and her voice is cracking, I felt so bad for her! She was just a kid (I'm an "elder Swiftie") and it was so endearing. But then she started kicking ass and I was so excited for her! I looked at my husband and said, "She's going places." So, so glad y'all did this one!
Her first big award performance was Tim McGraw he’s a big country artist and her lead single was Tim McGraw she literally walked up to him in the middle of the song and said hi I’m Taylor and introduced herself to him
Yes, Taylor always knew what she wanted even at a very young age. Even though she had managers including her mother, she always was in command of her career. She decided what to wear on any occasion. Hard to believe, but the concepts for her tour stage designs & costumes comes from her. Then & now. So, Scott Borchetta told a story of the first time Taylor met his wife. She told his wife in advance what to expect. That Taylor is a "hugger", lol. (Very true) Also, she looks older. Taylor was 14 at the time, lol but looked 18.
i love the rain performance, wish she would bring this rain part back, closest we get is eras tour with diving lol also she always had some control of her image, but there was always a point where she never really got control of how she spoke in interviews and other info she would give out to the public/online or songs to choose for albums/singles vs now where she has more freedom to do what she wants to do with her music and says what she wants and its awesome she got out of that toxic environment despite how much she appreciated her start up, there was always push back to have complete freedom
@@jaylynn8630 ya that makes sense lol realistically it wouldnt work for tour, but like a single performance like that would be cool if she does a nostalgic moment for TS TV someday
@@jaylynn8630 ya im not sure, but i dont know if we would be correct for it being a throwback since it went into the midnights era for lavender haze with her diving lol could be grasping for straws, but one could hope
In one of her first interviews she drove the reporter around and pointed out the house of the boy who cheated on her and inspired some of the songs on debut. Which I think is kind of iconic.
The video hasn’t even been out yet. The fearless tour version in my opinion is the better version of the two. Hopefully one day you will get to journey to fearless so you can see so many good performances and behind the scenes stuff.
She actually looked a bit older when she was younger and younger as she got older lol it's crazy how she hasn't aged at all and hasn't had work done like almost all singers
@@michelle-fe7id I am a hardcore swiftie, so don't come at me, but I very much do not believe she hasn't had work done. The vast majority of celebrities, especially women, get some sort of work even if it's minor. I believe shes has an eyebrow lift, because her eyes aren't as hooded as they used to be. Some speculate she has had a nose job and gotten breast implants. Her work is just minimal compared to other celebrities, and obviously very well done.
@@mackenzie1845 you've got to be kidding me. I'm not even a swiftie just a big fan but she clearly hasn't done anything to her face. She has no signs whatsoever of any surgery or Botox. Not even celeb surgeons have accused her of that. She's ages extremely well but she still looks her age. Boob job is a different story but I was talking just about her face in the first post
@@michelle-fe7id I'm sorry but celebrity surgeons absolutely have accused her of having work... She has had work done. I don't know why fans try to deny this... its just sadly the reality of Hollywood. Her work is just very minimal and because she is one of the wealthiest singers out there, she can afford the best surgeons that are good at hiding the signs of surgery. She has veneers, her nose is smaller, and her eyes are simply not as hooded as they used to be.
@@mackenzie1845 the reality is not every one in hollywood gets work done. 😭 the argument that it’s minimal is stupid because it’s ignoring how people change as they grow up just like everyone else but since she is a celebrity, she MUSTVE had work done.

That bass player you pointed out is still with her on the Eras tour! 3 of her current touring band are with her since that performance 😊

She always had "IT" whatever that is. She was really born to do this...
"I'm sure she's horrendous to look at"😂

You saw George Strait in the front row giving her a standing ovation. I believe he invited her to open for him after that.
I've never heard / watched this perforamnce. Love it so adorable
Haha speaking of costume changes she does 16 of them in her Eras Tour set. You have a point about her loving them.
She has a live mash up of this song/ Pour Some Sugar On Me with Def Leopard. Fun stuff
We reacted to it:)
Who else made an ugly face when the BIG Machine's logo came on?? 🙋🏽♀🙃
Standing O from George Strait!! Hell yeah she did that✨💫

I feel like the leaving a wet stage would be a big problem for every other part of the concert lol!

@@Beautifulstars12 For sure. Didn't she also do that on Fearless tour? It could be a throwback for both.

she actually had a mic change in this performance. During the guitar solo they switched it cause of the water.
She came upwith the rain on stage idea when she was in 5th grade.
Saw this when it happened on TV....I was a dirty old man when I saw this ....
that was really her old guitar player Grant who is no longer with her. But a couple of them that were there are still with her.

Oh yes. I second this. Journey to Fearless is such a good watch. ❤
She was a little older here.
Think they mean ACMs
She looks and sounds 18 tops, don't know where you live where 22yo look like 15, lol.
