What if a teacher snaps or leaves a gun out in the open? The average pay for a teacher is around $49k in Florida, so they shouldn't be forced to now stop an active shooter. The average salary for a cop in Florida is around $62k. DeSantis should pay teachers more before he increases the scope of their job.
You can easily teach someone how to create a lesson plan, prepare assignments, give tests and grade them. You don't need a Master's Degree. Believe me, I have one.
You can program a robot to do that, but that’s not teaching. Teaching is knowing a subject well enough that you can break it down in multiple ways to ensure the student can understand the lesson. This is not easy to do. The best schools have the most qualified teachers. The best schools have teachers who are subject matter experts and are experts at teaching.

Yep, I am sure he is very aware of how it works and how it is going in schools. This is about intervention to enhance learning and culture. There will be very few of these people who will teaching advanced math and the sciences, but more would be involved in humanities, history and phys ed etc. Perhaps this would result in more teachers becoming more interested in what is happening around the school - bullying, drugs, vaping etc. Something needs to change.

@Puddin tane,,It is like you said, This is a great idea.. I believe mask should be mandatory at all times in your car in your house while you sleep, while you take a shower you must wear a mask. Cameras should be installed in people's homes to make sure they are obeying the rules.. mandatory vaccines must be implemented anybody who refuses will be forced to take it if they have to hold you down you will take it.. this is the only way we beat this virus we must obey the health experts and our leaders and rulers because they know best for us.
