Believe it or not this is still one of my favorite albums. These guys were absolutely smokin'! The used to play in La Crosse (Wisconsin) quite often. Great band. They should have been way huge.
My LP collection has gone through many purges in the last 35 years. Every time I get to this LP I forget why I still own it until I drop the needle on these tunes. Absolutely pitch perfect pop music. I agree with others who say these guys are in the 'should've been' category! Holding the LP in my hands right now with the inner sleeve lyrics. Nope. Still staying! From my cold dead fingers because POP rules! Discography?
OMG -- heard this song and had a flashback...most of the 80's a blur, a song will bring back a memory! Thank god there were no camera phones back then ..EVIDENCE! hee hee
This was very good pop- I remember the song "We are Good Boys", and another which got a lot of radio play, but the name escapes me at the moment- but it was really awesome
I have two albums of theirs that I used to play constantly. I have been wanting to get them transferred over to CD but I never get around to it. AceOHeart2012 - I agree with you totally. I really liked their music. Pat McCurdy is pretty good (funny songs, but not jamming music like back in the day) with his solo act now, but when this group was together they rocked ! I really thought that they were going to make it big. I wish they would have hung in there and stayed together.
roggiedodgie, the song you're trying to think of is probubly "darlin'" or "me and my face" those both got air play. i grew up with teddy (randy) freese. he was from illinois before moving to wisconsin. i was really proud of randy and still rock both albums. by the way, they didn't bill as pop, they were a new wave band,,,or at least according to randy.
Saw them open for Cheap Trick in Billings Mt 1979 or 80
No auto tune. Clearly respect for the craft.
Pat McCurdy had a regular gig at Celebrity Club on Prospect during the early 1990s.
