Another NEW Binding Method?! "Elastic" Accordion Binding is a combination of several different binding methods in one. This is a total Game Changer in my opinion!!! This is the most PERFECT combination of a Travelers Notebook/Journal and a Scrapbook album/Mini Album! I think you guys are going to LOVE this as much as I do. I included this binding method in the New Basically Amazing~Scrap Journal Add-On. The Basically Amazing Collection can be found in my Etsy shop~ Link below... www.etsy.com/shop/JenofEveDesigns?ref=seller-platform-mcnav§ion_id=27623512 ~Time Stamps~ 0:00 - Hey Guys 5:05 - How to Prepare the Binding Piece 12:50 - How to add the Elastic
Oh my goodness! This is such a fantastic idea and it looks so easy to do! I'm so excited to start working on something like this. I think it would be fantastic for scrapbooks as my kiddos grow. They grow SO FAST and this way I can make pages and take them out as I work on the next stage. GAME-FREAKING-CHANGER
I love the stitched accordion binding. It is so easy and it makes the pages so easy to move back and forth. Love this I think I will be using this more and more.
At the beginning my eyes glazed over like it was going to be REALLY hard, but by the end of the video I understood perfectly! Great explanation. Thanks!!
This whole series and the concepts are fabulous! I showed my husband the charming photos and said Jen's done it again. He was literally WOWED. Simply fantastic Jennifer.
Love all your great templates. I was wondering if you could put the tyvek on & then use the hole punch for the notches. In my mind that would make the notches much stronger.
Love both binding methods. Looking forward to trying them...that is as soon as I have time! Can't wait to see what you will do with all the lovely new tutorials. Very interested in creating with Charming! Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
Hi Jen :) I just love what you do and I know that you are always funny. So I am on to it as soon as you post something because you allways make me feel better and I learn something, thnx beautiful person xXx Be safe and your family too, love ya xXx Marga
I was a little hesitant about this method as elastic tends to crumble with age (we've all had hair ties snap) but I like that the adhesive is not touching the elastic. If the elastic needs replaced, just insert a wire in that gap and pull some new elastic through 😊
Great idea Alicia. I was thinking the same thing about dry rot. Considered using a very narrow ribbon and tying a bow that could be tied and untied as necessary. But your idea of using a wire to insert a new elastic is awesome! Thanks!
Love, love, love it! I can't imagine that I wouldn't use this method for most albums. The flexibility is definitely a game changer. Thanks so much for thinking/reviving these binding methods. Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family, and all the viewers.
Love this binding!! So flexible. I think I’m going to make a “naked” album with aloof extra pages the recipient can add and organize herself. Thanks for binging these to us!
You can add two journal sections to each elastic cord that is in the binding by slipping an elastic around one of the journal sections and slipping another journal into that one. I have an old video that I did demonstrating this method.
Thank you Dawn. We just started that type of album yesterday. Here is a link if you would like to follow along... ua-cam.com/video/niDZRhatbPE/v-deo.html
Binding fix suggestion... If you're as rough with these as me, I chuck (literally) them around a lot and even with the tyvek, my elastic and sewn signitures rip. I have taken to an extra step of sewing (backing like and/or with the tyvek) very thin light weight cotton fabric. I even used super glue in my Wanderlust hybrid. PS; I typed this before she said anything about alternateives. LOL
Jen, I want to make a four page album, I think (1 regular , elastic, regular, elastic) Which size binding do I use? Or do I use two page binding strip? Please direct me to your video that shows how to do this. Thanks
Is anyone else having trouble saving your purchase to your computer or phone? I can get access to it but I have to go to my email then etsy and then download it . What am I doing wrong. I am also having trouble with the add on being bigger than the foundations when I print them out.
You may want to check and see if you have enough memory on the device you are using. And, be sure that you are printing everything using the same printer settings. You may want to check on those. Sometimes mine will reset or something after an update without me knowing. You can always contact me through your purchase for help.

Love this idea. This makes creating an album soo much more versatile, endless possibilities.
I like the idea of the removeable signatures of a photo album, then if a couple of people are looking each can take a signature to look at
The possibilities are endless love everything you have created well worth the wait!
This is also a great one. I like being able to take something out and putting something else in its place.💝💝💝
Wow wow wow! You overload us with goodness...it is soooooo great after a hectic Monday!💜💜💜
Oh My!!! This binding may be my favorite!!!

The new binding system of elastic looks awesome. Do you have a video on how to make the pages to fit on the elastic
Thank you Dawn. We just started that type of album yesterday. Here is a link if you would like to follow along... ua-cam.com/video/niDZRhatbPE/v-deo.html
Love this idea
I want to make a four page binding, which binding template do I use?
Jen, I would like to do a small mini journal for junk journling. What would you recommend me to buy.. I'm so confused 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
The Wanderlust templates are perfect for that. They are actually designed to be right around the same size as Travelers Notebook sizes.
This is cool. It seems like it would make the spine a little bulky. Have you had that experience?

Two? Two and a half? That would be me.
