琵琶協奏曲《幻想伎樂天》的創作靈感源於莫高窟壁畫中飛天伎樂之形象，許多壁畫上描繪了香音神手持琵琶、古箏、笛子、笙、篳篥等樂器合奏的場景，其中「反彈琵琶」的藝術形象尤為著名，使我頗受觸動。這首樂曲的曲調素材取自於音樂學家葉棟先生解譯的《敦煌琵琶譜》之第24首《伊州》和第12首《傾杯樂》，以唐代歌舞大曲的結構原則為基礎，融入東亞、中亞、南亞音樂的元素創作而成。
千年前是誰在石壁上塗繪著精美的飛天壁畫？又是誰用琵琶彈奏著現已靜默如謎的敦煌古譜？作品對莫高窟的起源、輝煌燦爛的前世與重見天日的今生展開幻想，試圖用音樂構畫出古代敦煌的繁華圖景，以表達我對“無聲”的唐大曲的崇敬與嚮往。
全曲分為三個樂章，樂章間不間斷演奏：
第一樂章〈散序〉散板─廣板─散板
第二樂章〈中序〉行板─快板
第三樂章〈破〉華彩─慢起漸快的急板─行板
該作品於2017年3月1日由閻惠昌先生指揮香港中樂團在香港大會堂首演，琵琶演奏家王梓靜女士擔任獨奏，獲得「中樂無疆界」國際中樂作曲大賽最佳獨奏與樂隊獎、最佳配器獎和優秀青年作曲家獎。

Pipa concerto Fantasy of Flying Apsaras was inspired by the images of flying apsaras who play instruments on the murals in Mogao Grottoes. There, scenes of instrumental ensembles performed by apsaras who play various ancient instruments such as pipa, guzheng, dizi, sheng and bili are depicted. Among them, the artistic image of playing pipa is particularly famous and has touched me deeply. This concerto is based on the structural principles of Daqu of Tang Dynasty and is infused with elements of East Asian, Middle Asian and South Asian music, the tune materials of which is drawn from Yi Zhou and Qing Bei Le, respectively the 24th and 12th piece of the Dunhuang ancient notations, which were interpreted by Prof. Ye Dong.
This work displays vivid imaginings of the beginning and the splendid past life of Mogao Grottoes, and makes an attempt to depict the prosperity scenes of ancient Dunhuang by music so as to express my reverence and longing for the Daqu of Tang Dynasty.
This concerto includes three movements, and they are played without interruption:
I. Sanxu: Ad libitum - Largo - Ad libitum
II. Zhongxu: Andante - Allegro
III. Po: Cadenza - Presto - Andante.
