8 tracks and cassettes from well known bands, Beatles, Beach boys, rolling stones will all sell good. “The christ keepers quartet greatest hits volume 4” might be a tough sell
I've been finding the little things too. $15-$20 net profit is great when its smalls. Sometimes a small brings just as good a profit as a med sized item.
Cassettes seem to be having something of a resurgence of interest after years of not being able to give them away. The big advantage is that they are almost always sold in cases and the cases alone will, more often than not, put you securely into profit. I rarely see them at car boot sales and never in charity (ie thrift) stores but regularly pick up very large lots at auction. A fairly typical lot cost me £6 plus commission (so about $10-12 US) for around 250 cassettes in six cases. The cases, all in lovely condition--2 still had the original keys, sold for nearly £100. Most of the cassettes will sell in bundles, a few individual but that is really just a bonus. 8 tracks were never very popular here in the UK and are a rare find now with not a tremendous resale market.
I still listen to 8 tracks and enjoy them depending on the artist and music type. I also have CDs, LPs, cassettes too. For me, it's just something about having a piece of medium that plays in a machine that makes listening to the audio more enjoyable. Still can't beat the analog purity of sound that comes from good condition vinyl. MP3 sounds too harsh and thin.
I agree. There's not much value if any in CD's and cassette music. He would do better taking them to Declutter or a record store to get his money back. Those music cassettes are lonnnngggg hold.
If you are going to sell 8 tracks, know how to take them apart and replace the foam pads and reinforce the splice and if neccesary replace the foil strip. 8 tracks or very finicky. plenty of videos on you tube on fixing them. Some tapes are made cheap. Go to 8 track heaven for more help.
I have tried and tried to sell individually and they won't sell. I'm ending all my listings and selling as lots instead. Don't have time to waste on doing that way anymore.
Good morning Kevin :) I've dabbled at selling dvd's and cd's, and while it might be good for a quick $5, I haven't had much success. But since you found so many, I agree just pull out the better ones and donate the rest. OR, if you have a garage sale, put them 2 for $1 and I'm sure they'll fly!
Thanks so much for watching this morning. I am going to sell them to a friend who sells at the flea market. He said he will give me 30 cents each for the dvds so that a quick 60 bucks for no work.
As a music collector. I can say Cassette will move. Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Punk, Grunge, 80's pop, and Old School Hip Hop & Rap cassette bring good money. If you don't want to list them on eBay. They try on Discogs. Stay away from the easy listening music. They don't move at all. But Gospel and any bible related will sell, but no for lots of money.
Let me say right off... I am still watching, hoping to actually pull the pin and try my own version that you senior pickers have taught me, and..... I still have a lot of my owned small business experience, and in watching your videos, I have formed some opinions; COLLECTING 8 TRACK OR CASSETTES OR CDS, AND HOLDING THEM TILL YOU HAVE A LARGE AMOUNT SEEMS LIKE A GOOD PLAN, but how will you market them ?? You have a lot of valuable experience, form a CO-OP with other pickers and have auction invite the whole world, have some fun with it. The garage sale acquisition part of what you do seems to have a great element of GUT REACTION and also luck involved. Trust that !!! Remember; you use your vehicle and buy gasoline and use part of your house, rent an office or warehouse. You need to account for your time and assign a value to each hour. That is also part of the cost of those picked items. Those are all expenses that you must add to the cost of those items that you pick. When you don't pay for an item a seller gives to you, IT IS NOT FREE. Isn't it great how an even a totally GREEN novice knows so much ??? Keep on truck 'in, I'll join you soon HAPPY TRAILS< Tony
Amen to all of those things. The cassettes are just cool imho. I listen to them almost every day just for nostalgia. Best of luck to you. With you experience and your way of thinking you will kill it.
@@rosemaryedwards8706 Don't bother listing them if they are not tested. I would not want any of them if I didn't know that. You will make next to nothing if so. better off giving them to good will.

I TOTALLY Agree. My kids and I still watch the VCR and the 100s of vhs we have. Not to mention you can't beat the price.
interesting video because i have to buy those a classic oldies songs in cassette with original ones instead of bootleg in Goodwill
Most times a quick (and easy) nickel is better than a slow dime.

Several of my prerecorded cassettes started squealing due to the cheap oxide they used. 8 tracks don't do that and seem to last longer.
...love the video!
...looks as though your looking through my many cases of cassettes 😉

Selling red dust cover plates for 8 tracks as a group is great. VHS Horror movies
Thanks for the reminder about the Quadrophonic 8 tracks.
The Thrift Raider no problem. Thanks for watching. I’m going to watch your etsy video. I have never sold on etsy and I am interested.

It depends on which ones.

8 tracks will be a big seller. They're on their way up. Look em up . They sell!
s w I hope you’re right. I’ve got a bunch. Sold 3 lately for really good money.
You have to know how to repair tapes to sell them if they don't work. Buy a player to test them with before listing.
Hello I have around 300 cassettes all artists how much do you think I can get
