I watched this video because PERSONALLY, when I occasionally watched boys of his streams/videos he came across to me as just some loud, annoying guy. But, the traits the guy describes in this video, that make people like Etika so much, are the types of things that I think make a person fun to watch! So I'm going to tune in to one of etika's streams some time and see if I enjoy it.
I love this video so much dude. And my favorite part is when someone donated wbout their mom dying in the beginning then ending it talking about subway 11in sandwich while etika was talking about how hard it would be if he lost his mom and then his "fuck you' face appeared after reading the entire donation message.

Very nicely edited and written summary about Etika. I wish you made it a bit longer with highlights on some of your points so that people that don't know him would get a taste of what he does, especialy on streams that he doesn't upload. I actually discovered Etika quite late, around the time the Nintendo Switch was launched. I just really loved how he was "off the cuff" whenever he speaks, you can really see that it is Desmond that is speaking and he's not playing a character. I realized this during the 24 hour Switch launch stream. I mean how can you put up a character for 24 hours? And deliberately sleeping on the stream without realising because you're drunk? That was some golden moments right there. One thing that people don't understand is when they think he's overreacting. But little they know that most of the people that has seen or knows him personally actually say that it's really how he reacts to things. That's why people like me love his streams, he doesn't sugarcoat it if it's not necessary. He perpetually speaks out his mind with no reservations, and some times he does have fascinating views on things and can speak really intelligently. I remember that he puts this video to the side, but Im pretty sure he watched this in his private time already.

I've been subscribed to Etika bit over 2 years I believe. When I first got to know him, it was for all the "nintendo news" stuff, I particulary interested in the nitendo nx and liked how he explained the (yet to be out) device. I never "followed" him at that point though, then I started playing Fire Emblem and that's when I REALLY started to follow him, I liked how (especially in Fates) he took the time to learn the game mechanics properly. Then I watched his Undertale playthrough, mind you I never played it or watched anyone play it because it just seemed so boring to me, yet Etika was that one youtube that made it able for me to sit there and watch all of his playthrough (normal run, genocide ecc) even though the spoilery chat was frustrating af. So what is it that makes Etika so unique? I really do have to agree with you, it's the super excitment that doesn't seem fake at all. A bad example of overly done reactions for me is Markiplier, I never could watch that guy, especially because of how cringe he was with the horror stuff. But Etika? Damn he's good, he pulls you in and makes you feel the excitment through the screen. I also (used) to love his drunk streams where he would become all sentimental with us and try to teach life lessons. Nowdays, I don't really tune in to his stream anymore though... he's still a cool guy, but do I feel like he's slowly kind of losing himself? Like I said, I USED to love his drunk streams but after a while, damn I want a nice stream about a certain stuff without Etika having to drink at every donation resulting in him forgetting the topic he was talking about... aight I rambled too much, still love the guy and occasionaly still watch him (nintendo directs, mostly)
