I struggle with the rationale of the whole Sov Cit movement. How can you claim that the laws don’t apply to you, but on the other hand fully expect the protections those laws afford you? Since the laws of the land don’t apply to them, then I should be able to rob, assault, or otherwise disenfranchise a SovCit and then claim I can’t be punished under the laws of that State.
Well, they don't claim that *no* laws apply to them. They insist that they are subject, as "natural men" (or women) to common law, not to statute law. They define common law as being the general principles of "don't hurt anyone else without a good reason." (Common law does exist but it doesn't mean what they think it does.)
So if they had their way about the structure of the law, and you assaulted them, they'd be able to bring you to a "common law court," which rules on the basis of harm done. The fact that no such courts actually exist is beside the point. 😉
SOVCIT s are easy to understand. They want all the protections but laws don’t apply to them.
I don’t agree with their interpretation.
@@norarivkis2513maybe these people don't want to follow any laws and they think they're above them but grab on to these out of date old laws that have been twisted to fit their narrative. When you watch enough people spouting rubbish on line you can brainwash yourself to believing that they are real just because they're the only people who are educated enough to know these "so called laws".

I think the whole sov cit ideology revolves around the idea that if you kick up enough of a fuss the legal system will give in and give you what you want. You know, basically a five year-old who really wants a toy.
Most judges avoid treating these adults like the toddlers they are, maybe hoping that their professionalism will get through to the idiots. But when someone starts to discipline them like the child they are like a spoiled brat who gets told no for the first time.

Classic; the guy talked his way off of Zoom and into court. You have to follow up on this guy in about 30 days. I so hope he gets a bond he can't pay and does at least a few days. Would love to see him handcuffed by a baliff and marched off to jail.

I’m not an attorney and to be fair I’m working while I listen but did I hear the gang member case right… he’s in jail, a self-admitted gang member, throws poop on a deputy for doing his actual job and gets his bond amount REDUCED???

I got a ticket in 1996 from Fulton County Sheriff's Department for not having my physical Driver's License on me. I was driving a Brazilian couple from a restaurant/bar who had too much to drink back to their hotel during Summer Olympics games being held in Atlanta. Rolled into a roadblock and it was a 2 hour ordeal. Went to Court 3 weeks later and my case was never called because of the # of cases being heard. The Clerk's Office told me to come back the next morning. My case was called and I told the Magistrate my story and showed her my valid license. She said she'd dismiss the charge if I paid the $72 Court Costs. I said okay, paid, and went on my merry way. 2 year's later when I went to pay for and get my new license I was told Georgia had a hold on my license from a unpaid ticket. I ended up having to go back to Fulton County Court Clerk's office and show them where the case had been dismissed and receipt where I'd paid the fees. Got a letter from them and went back to my States DMV and it was still showing a hold. Showed them the letter I had just gotten in Georgia and had to fill out a dispute form and wait for decision. Got the letter saying I was good to go and went back and finally got my new license. In 2006 & 2014 it was the same procedure as Georgia still was showing outstanding warrant on my Driver's License. I knew it was going to be the same in 2022 but it wasn't. Georgia had been sued and all outstanding tickets older than 8 year's were dismissed. So I guess I wasn't the only one getting screwed over by Georgia Motor Vehicle Department. My license was always valid but had I ever been pulled over during all those year's in the State of Georgia I surmise I'd have gotten to see my first in person jail cell. Long Story to say Fulton County Georgia Government is inept at best and totally incompetent at worst.

Just for fun Mike, how would you feel about the justice system completely doing away with ZOOM court? I, myself, would be completely in favor of it. If you do the dirty, you should take advantage of your right to have your day in court. It seems like a lot of people see ZOOM as a circus and act accordingly.
I would lose my entertainment if Zoom Court was discontinued!. But I do wish the zoom participants (defendants and witnesses) would dress and act appropriately and not walk around with their phones because it makes me dizzy. Thanks LTWM! You’ve been with me from Texas to Arizona to Alaska and headed to Virginia before I get back to Texas in October. A grand spring and summer!

Courts are about the law, not about feelings. If you are charged with an infraction of the law, you have the right to your day IN court. Zoom court has been a joke and people are starting to act that way. I find no reason justifying Zoom courts over appearing in person.@@Voxelind
