Barkley said the same thing and MJ broke off all ties with him.
Eeeek, I hope he doesn't break of all ties with me lol
Yea jordan is ultra sensitive
I actually think Jordan is such a terrible owner precisely because of how great of a player he was. In any organization, there comes a time when the honchos make or are about to make terrible decisions. And in functional orgs, there is a culture of openness and feedback wherein juniors can look at management in the eye and politely inform them that they are making a mistake. Who do you think is going to have the balls to go to THE Michael Jordan and tell him, "With respect sir, you are wrong". I can imagine people doing that to Lacob or Cuban, but not to Jordan.
That is why Charles Barkley was right. And MJ is a bitch for being hurt by Chuck’s statement. The proof is in the pudding. The Bobcats/Hornets suck during his tenure as majority owner.
you're exactly right, charles barkley did that in a kind way as a friend and jordan hasn't talked to him since
A real one would just have to let him know wembanyama still out there
Nah, it's not because he was a great player, it's because he's an arrogant asshole. You have to look at their personalities and skillsets beyond how great they are as a player.
For example, I firmly believe that if LeBron was an owner, he would hire the best people in place to try to create a winner and he has the basketball IQ to build a team. Jordan is a selfish guy, no two ways around it no matter how great he was.
I mean really, Jordan may have the biggest ego in the history of professional sports. Just because LeBron won that historic championship in 2016, Jordan releases the 1998 "Bulls" documentary but it may as well have been a Jordan documentary with how things were framed.
Yeah and he probably punches that person who opposes him.
The problem with MJ is that he doesn't respect other people's perspective.
Facts
Why should he, he is the GOAT right?
@@psi-eight he’s not the “goat” at ownership of front office. Theres no correlation between that and playing.
@@_________. no he is the GOAT right? Right? What ever he does is ohhs and ahhs for the MJ stans.

Why would any Hornets fan be upset with you about this video? They know all of this. I guess they could be pissed about having to think about it all again.
Recently with some friends we checked the hornets picks from 2004 to 2014, and ended up with the conclusion, that if we only picked up players from the 2010 to 2014 draft, a much more realistically balanced team could be formed around lamelo, taking into account that these players remained in the franchise to this day, we ended up with the following team:
PG: Lamelo Ball
SG: Khris Middleton
SF: Jimmy Butler
PF: Jae Crowder
C: Steven Adams
6TH MAN: Jordan Clarkson.
It is a more defensive start line-up with less three-point shooting, with a big man like Steven Adams and a superstar like Jimmy butler. We were between this variant and placing c. j. McCollum and Robert covinghton instead of khris middelton and jae crowder.
(Forgive me, if you don't understand it in some places, I still don't speak/write English very well).
Fr if I were him I’d just sit back and enjoy my life
Lol right?
If he sold his soul, as I suspect he did, he cannot sit back and enjoy life. He made a deal, and has to keep up his end.
What deal? The same one Bob Dylan, and MANY others have made.

I'm just surprised nothing has changed. He's been getting slammed for ages like at what point do you pivot and try another way?? Thats the worst part. The arrogance to not change anything after failing so many times.
I remember when Jerry Krause never used to take Jordan's advice on picking up free agents or drafting and I see why now..
jorbum drafted kwame brown
The Kemba trade was a solid for him to try for a ring. They have developed 2nd rd picks to be solid players. They are a lot better at developing their talent than they were 5 years ago. They have learned they have to develop their own players
He just needs a good Team President, and let him run the team.

He doesn’t run the team directly

Lol, of course!
The Kemba/Rozier trade wasnt a normal trade. It was a sign and trade so Charlotte had to lose Kemba for nothing or get Rozier
I realize that, but you should have AT LEAST been able to obtain a first round pick even in the event of a sign and trade, plenty of teams have done that. He was an all NBA player at the time
@@And.One.Hoops1 I think you are clearly overrating the value of an injury plagued small guard over 30 years old
As far as what makes Jordan such a bad talent evaluator, it's kind of a well-known adage that the best players in a sport make the worst coaches/GMs in the sport. Guys who were that good, particularly if they were unreal physical talents, have a hard time understanding or relating to less-talented players (i.e. 99% of the league). They're also less likely to value "the little things" that are critical to building a winner. Things like discipline, attention to detail, personal habits, studying, and team cohesion are all crucial to team success, but when the guy in charge was good enough to skip some of those steps in his day he's going to overlook it as an executive. Players who were not as good on the other hand HAD to do those things just to survive in the pros, so you can bet they're gonna make sure it happens under their watch.
You overrate how involved jordan is with operations
@@night6724 In Jordan’s case his time with the Wizards is more applicable, though his time as minority owner with the Bobcats qualifies too.
@@bestxcrunner2013 those wizards teams weren’t that bad when he unretired
Who honestly thought when MJ became owner of the Hornets would think he would be a bad owner. Like who would have thought that one of the greatest NBA players ever in league history would be a bad owner, he just gambles, drinks and other shit. I mean to put no dirt or anything on MJ's name, I love him for the player he was but not the owner he is, the legit only notable achievement he has as an owner was drafting Lamelo Ball and even then he is limiting him.
I always did find this really puzzling as he was so ultra competitive in everything else.
Watch out now, he will take that PERSONALLY
Honestly I think as long as James dolan owns the knicks mj can never be the worst but he is very close
James Dolan can get away with it because it's New York, and players WANT to play in and are desperate to GET TO the #2 market in the U.S.A. Charlotte, meanwhile, is in the middle of nowhere, and to this day, commentators still "slip up" and call them the "Bobcats" because who really cares?
It's just Charlotte. Not like they ever won anything or are EVER going to win anything.
Really sad and unfortunate, but it is the truth. MJ is a superstar and a basketball icon, but he never played for the Hornets, much less hung any banners for them. 🏀
@@TuNnL Also Dolan's religious background shields him from criticism.
@@rapgodreloaded9259 that's a great point. 🎯💯 One look at the way Kyrie Irving was crucified for posting a link to a video being sold on Amazon tells you all you need to know about who is running the show in the New York market.
Yeah the Hornets will continue to be an unserious franchise as long as Jordan is the owner imo. Great videos man keep up the good work.
Thanks brother! Glad you enjoyed it!
Jordan being a bad owner is way overrated. Hornet fan know Charlotte is a small market also there are teams in the NBA that hasnt made the playoffs in a decade. Jordan has only been owner for 10 plus years and made playoffs multiple times
You been smoking too much crack there dude? They have made the playoffs like twice in about 20 seasons under his ownership. And went out in the first round of the playoffs both times. Passed on 3 great players in the greek freak, Kawhi, Devon Booker just to name a few! Guys a CHEAPSKATE bottom line!
No No No AS A HORNET FAN …..
i agree with you 😔
Melo really is that guy, he don’t need to be a number 1 option he clearly makes this team play better. Imagine him with better teammates
Memphis was a small market look how they built that team up
I actually want to see the Hornets get better after watching this video. You know I’m a Bulls fan. But damn I really want LaMelo to help build that team’s brand. The league is interesting when everyone plays well.
The old Charlotte Hornets are now the New Orleans Pelicans. The current Hornets we're previously the Charlotte Bobcats.
Yep, we know
MJ’s competition problem was perfect for a player, but that same attitude does not work in the front office.
Nobody making any noise about Michael when he played for Wizards suited up with his team , he purchased, where was thise Stats, he played for Wizard 2001 until 2003, where was his greatest competitiveness , trophies, its james 3rd team, won so far with them all
That SGA trade was a bad trade in hindsight but yes the hornets are known for trading a away franchise players (kobe/SGA) but all of these trades sounded like a good ideas at the time but hindsight is a heavy factor in you arguments
Still a very good vid
The hornets never had Kobe. Draft day trades are done in advance.
GOAT to WOAT-Worse Owner All Time!
KD should go to Charlotte and win a ring for them.
The problem is that no one wants Hayward for a trade (maybe trade him for an expensive bench warmer). MJ cannot stop giving them bad contracts. Reminds me of Nicolas Batum. They should start Nick Richards at the 5. He is a solid big man. Develop Mark Williams and Bouknight has some off-court issues so they should trade him for an asset. They should BUILD around LAMELO for goodness sake.
Thats why i hate all negative publicity on Kraus. Both MJ and Phill proved they suck as GM/Owner..
Oh man, Phil was really bad as well
Ok had to stop at the LaMelo slander you clearly don't kno hoops. Dude came into the league with everyone and their mama hating this 19 yr old kid. Most people actively wished for his failure and hes exceeded all expectations that literally the *opposite* of overrated.
LaMelo is already a superstar bro wth are you talking about. Like... Watch the tape... Dude is elite at the game of basketball. If a dude as skilled as LaMelo who's had tangible effects on winning isnt a superstar, then sir you simply dont know what a superstar is
And hes only 21. You trippin bro
I think he’s a great player, a star for sure, but even stars can be overrated. Look at his on court/off court numbers and how much he contributes to winning
So he’s worst than the kings owner?
Krause was a million times better an executive than Jordan. So much for players winning championships
MJ Has Way Too Many "YES Men" Around Him. & The Racist NBA Owners Do Not Want Him #Jordan To Win Another Championship. JORDAN SNEAKERS & NBA OWNERSHIP Is Enough . NBA NEEDS MORE MINORITY OWNERSHIP!
Not true
As a hayward fan, everything went downhill when he got that wack ahh mullet
This video has been made 1000x
he was bad, but from a business standpoint, he is as good as he was as a player with a 10x profit on the purchase and sale of the team.........paid 275 million, sold for 3 billion, not bad for playing in the sandbox for a couple years
Hayward like Lonzo is a good player who showed flashes of his former all star self.
Hey you brought the receipts. Great as he is as a player, MJ doesn't have anything to show for his ownership. My only nitpick with this video is there could've been a deeper, side-by-side comparison, like who's next to MJ as the worst owner plus who's the best. That way, we could see the broader picture. Btw, MJ and Charles Barkley had a falling out because of Barkley's not so rosy comments on MJ's mishandling of the ball club, which the guy took personally.
Yeah that’s fair. I hope MJ doesn’t see this video because he’s my childhood hero 😂
Running the team into the ground = selling it for a 2.7 Billion dollar profit?
Cooooooold take.
He's an A $$!
How polarizing it is when your the GOAT player in the NBA but the worst owner in the NBA.
Great videos
Thank you!!
So bad that they are the only team that to not play on Christmas
He is a horrible owner he doesn't have a clue how to build a championship team needs to stick to selling shoes and playing golf
They earn when popular teams come to play...
I'm a Hornets fans and look, we are way worse than it looks
let me get this straight 2013 jordan passed on Giannis like he's the eiptome of terrible
Yeah but a lot teams passed on Giannis in that draft. No one thought he was going to become the player he did
@@And.One.Hoops1 that's another reason i gave no respect for Jordan like you could have a superstar before lamelo you chose Noah vonleh who was shipped to new York
The kemba trade wasn't really a trade. He left so they took whatever they could. And miles bridges was a good pick but shit happens.
Yeah MJ gone take this personally lmao
Gonna take it personally and beat up expansion teams
Lamelo and Wemby would make them a instant playoff team . Sounds like a decent enough plan to me. Also Lamelo career averages: 19 6 7 on 37 % on 3s with 8 attempts. Pretty decent considering where he plays and we all thought he was gonna be a bust
We? You were an idiot if you though Lamelo was gonna be a bust.
Yeah what? I don’t think anyone thought LaMelo was going to be a bust
Lmao he is a bust
Just how openly Jordan ridicule Krause as a GM? And now, as an owner, who is he taking advice from? Why is he even involved in a team such as Charlotte?
Bro you done it now he's no longer your friend for 50 years
he’s drafted some good players but a lot of them have been trash which isn’t his fault. but he just needs to hire someone who knows how to scout and let him do his job
well its not surprising. Jordan was a great player but had eyes only on himself, so of course he couldn't recognize other talent :3
I dont think Jordan is bad at evaluating talent ( Look at his draft picks) I think he's impatient; you mentioned several players such as SGA, Malik Monk, etc. He never let his players develop. I think we see know with alot of good small market teams you need to develop your draft picks over 2-4 years to really see what their role is. I think looking at these picks, if he had taken his time the Hornets would be a top 5-7 team right now easy.
That’s exactly what it is. He’s very impatient, hence why he said he could never coach.
Jordan trash because he won't get players with better potential than him. His ego is ruining them.
I swear if we draft Brandon miller over scoot Henderson.
Funny that you should say that.....that's the topic of my next video going out tomorrow
@@And.One.Hoops1 can’t wait to see it man, guess I’m a mind reader.

Tom Gores who owns the pistons is also a huge clown.
Lol true
Ball is the best player to ever play in Charlotte. He's not overrated, he still hasn't even peaked and luckily he doesn't seem broken like his brother.
You must be new to the NBA, we had an All NBA guard named Kemba Walker. He’s our goat
@@LegitLongevity 😂 Just wait. Walker had so many shortcomings. He only scored decent points because he was the best player on a crappy team. Ball actually makes his teammates better.
@@AGHathaway he might make them better sure, but they’re already better than any teammates Kemba has ever had. Kemba has never had a reliable second option. Lamelo gets bail outs with multiple options
I don't know if we're counting the 90s Hornets, but I feel like their GOAT has to be Alonzo Mourning.
Kemba I kinda see as the 2010s Elton Brand. When healthy he had the talent and leadership to at least lead his teams to consistent playoff performances and be a regular all NBA player, he just had really awful luck between where he was drafted and knee problems kicking in as soon as he had competent management.
@@johndebono1870 I see Melo averaging over 27 pts next year and still maintaining a high assist count. He is the best player they've ever had.
Like Mike...If I can be like Mike! LOL...
They made another dumb move by moving 13th pick in the 2022 draft which was used for Jalen Durren and the drafted Mark Williams. Not saying Williams is bad but c'mon you could have used them both or traded one later.
Yeah exactly, and Durren has looked nice
But imagine the duo of Lamelo and Wembanyama.. That *could* win chips.

Mj can’t do wrong to most of these guys 😂 according to all the polls he the best at every at basketball lmao
You can’t fault him for the Kemba Walker trade b/c he was leaving as an unrestricted free agent. They only got Rozier to help Boston fit under the cap. Otherwise they would’ve lost Kemba for nothing.
I mean you can, Kemba wanted to resign but MJ was giving him a bad deal and Kemba didnt want it, he felt as he deserved much more and he honestly really did. MJ was just being cheap.
@@RealGrognak dude no, Kemba is my all time favorite player but I have accepted the facts. Kemba had knee surgery every offseason since like 2015. On top of that, he was an All NBA offensive talent but on the defensive end he was one of the worst guards in the league. Not to mention he would’ve 29 so his next contract would spill into his decline of his career. He was a great player but not a max player.
@@LegitLongevity Yeah I agree to that, he isnt a max player at all. Kemba would have been either the second or first best option as a scorer on the team. MJ seems like a reasonable guy so I guarantee he would be down for negotiations.

We’ll see, I think he’ll be an all-star, just don’t see him being like a top 10 player in the league

kwame brown most likely would of been a much better player if he didn't have to take verbal abuse from micheal jordan and kobe Bryant at the age of 18
I think MJ has a long term strategy here and isn't ready to go after free agents just to make a run in the play-offs or play .500 basketball. Especially with the Bucks, Nets, Celtics, Calvs etc dominating the East. I think if you are in a small market, you need to get lucky with picks before you splurge and go for it. Several teams in the NBA have operated that way. Even teams like the Pelicans who had a superstar weren't successful for years. The Milwaukee Bucks are another good example. They had to wait for someone like Giannis to come around. Even if MJ had drafted better, it still wouldn't have put the Hornets much further ahead. Its a curse for teams to spend a pile of money to make the play offs and then have late draft picks.
In short he's not doing a LeBron James strategy ? the " trade all players to get a superstar or 2 just to make it into the playoffs " ?
