@MrYummy35 I think they're mostly sold through dealerships. This couple I interviewed bought theirs online, but it was used. You could try sites like craigslist or ebay for a secondhand option.
@alexnkassiesavage You don't necessarily need to be cold in winter as it comes with doors. The Owens had theirs stored in the garage attic since it was a hot summer when I filmed them.
It's called a GEM (Global Electric Motorcars), or Chrysler Group Global Electric Motorcars-- part of the Chrysler family. They're actually not officially considered golf carts, but NEVs (Neighborhood Electric Vehicles), but seems, as Rick Owens pointed out, that they can be used on "turf".
Ya know what's funny. So I live in a major minor city. We bought one because all the local roads are 35 mph and under. We bought a golf cart. And all of the benefits I describe to friends, they describe lol. I love my golf cart, I mean LSV "Low Speed Vehicle"
I thought I was looking at myself.. I have a GEM and a Prius as well.. although the Prius has sat since I got the GEM.. I live in the Denver area and only know of two others that are privately owned in the are.. like the Owens.. I get a lot of looks and questions..
“The gas prices what they are” in 2011 is funny to hear in 2022, I hope these folks are still rolling, and I hope there’s more adoption of this kind of vehicle.
It has seat belts and is restricted to slower speeds. The good news is that if you crash it into a pedestrian, there's a good chance the pedestrian will live - unlike with a bigger vehicle which goes 40 or 46 MPH over crosswalks.

This is exactly what would work in my historic neighborhood!
