I have the VM18L I'm very satisfied with it. I have converted it to CNC (changed X/Y leadscrews to ballscrews). By time I also replaced the spindle bearings with japanese ones. First of all I had to learn what my machine is capable of doing and what not.
Hey how did you changed the bearings to the Japanese ones? How much did it cost? I would like to do this as well. Is it possible I can change the bearings to a high speed one such as 10K RPM? Would this work on the stock PM-25/VM-25/G0704? Thanks.
@@sto2779 I just pulled them off with long screws, 123blocks and some clamps (there's better equipment available for that). for 10k you will have to change the drive chain as well very likely. I bought the Japanese ones from a local bearing store (I'm in Taiwan) they only have good quality bearings.
What kind of stepper motors are you using, like specification on it? I can get either VM25L or PM-25 or G0704. Both of the VM25L and PM-25 are in stock and same exact price, what a coincidence 🤣(i think the PM-25 is better, right?). The G0704 is $500 cheaper, you think I should go for the G0704? Thanks
Nema 24 on X and y they were the biggest closed loop steppers I could get from omc-stepper on line. The z axis is a nema 34. Closed loop I think it is a 1200 oz

what is the distance of the hole on the base?i make a table first...just bought mine too, arrived next month..
Have you figured out how to run the DRO on the spindle? I have a 15, I like it but the directions suck.
