It's nice to see you guys enjoy lives. I'm sorry to say that we don't wear or buy "Tommy Hilfiger's products" because he said that people like you & I (Minorities) do NOT deserve to wear his products. Since then, I put his products away or maybe later on will destroy them. I don't intend to give/donate them away either. I attach his link and comments below. I am not whether UA-cam allows me to do so: (This is just my opinion)
Have you heard the rumor that Tommy Hilfiger doesn't want minorities wearing his clothes?
It's an old one. It started around 1996 via an email boycott campaign and went something like this: Hilfiger allegedly said something along the lines of that if he had known minorities were going to wear his clothes he wouldn't have made them "so nice" and that he wished they wouldn't wear them; then he went on Oprah and stood by those statements. Of course, none of it is true. He had never even been on Oprah when the rumors started.
Since the mid-1990s, variations of the rumor that Tommy Hilfiger is racist, anti-Semitic, and homophobic persist despite the fact that these allegations have been debunked over and over again.
Spread initially through e-mails and other electronic media almost 20 years ago, the rumor’s many variations stem from an original allegation that Hilfiger appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and stated that his fashion was intended for upper-class whites and if he had known Blacks would be wearing his clothing, he would not have made them so nice. Other versions of the e-mail claimed Hilfiger did not want Asians, Hispanics, Jews, or other minorities wearing his clothing line. The e-mails also generally cliam that Oprah kicked Hilfiger off the show after he made the statement and called for a boycott of the Tommy Hilfiger company.
