- This Ballet Barre class is created for our dancers, but also for everyone who wants to join. As always you can follow this online ballet class from the comfort of your home because it's not only important to stay safe, but also in shape! Ernst Meisner, artistic coordinator of the Junior Company, teaches this barre and pianist Rex Lobo accompanies him on the piano. We will stream a ballet barre on UA-cam every Monday and Friday and will go live during a class with dancers (via ZOOM) on our Facebookpage Het Nationale Ballet. All classes start at 11am (CET). Keep on dancing and let’s start!

I am 64, in Chicago. Following Ernst’s lesson for more than a year now. Really thankful for the online lessons. I just recently amused to see that Rex is dancing with his arms between the music. Many thanks for the recent videos, my partner who is 61 years of age has been learning Ballet at Scottish Ballet with Preston Clare,my partner is now in the beginners class and although he is overweight he is really enjoying learning ballet even though he has a balance problem with pirouettes, your classes will help him to keep upto date with what he is learning, thank you and Dutch national ballet for making these classes available.

I am loving these classes so much as are my students. We are a high school dance program in Queens, NY and so many of our families have been affected by this virus. These classes have brought us a lot of joy! It is so kind of you all to share these with us at a time when we are all starving to be in class together. These are the closest I feel to a real class. I hope everyone at Dutch National Ballet knows how much these mean to us! My students, who never have the luxury of live music, also now understand why I think it's so important. Hi Ernst!! I want to say thank-you too for your barre. I haven't been dancing for years and hence, most of the pro classes available on line are too fast, too long or lacking enough plies (I have a hard floor at home). But yours has all I need! Looks like we are a lot of 50+ ex-dancers trying to "move again" and you are making it happen! Next project, then: how about a NDT3 for all of us online from home? Hahahaha!! Just kidding.
