I don’t think Marie kondo is a minimalist tho...she just says for people to keep what they love and brings them joy...whether it severa a purpose or not I guess 🤷🏻♀️
Agreed. Also, I "think" she says that things that bring you joy should be displayed or placed where you can see it even if it's behind a cabinet door. When I read that, I got the idea to put my childhood McDonald's toys behind the medicine cabinet where I put all my skincare, so I get to see them 2-3 times a day but it's just for my eyes and no one else's.
My tip for de-cluttering when you're a sentimental collector is to ask yourself these two questions: Does this always consistently give me joy and happy memories? Or is it only giving me those feelings in this moment? If it is consistent, keep it. If it is in the moment that you feel joy gift it, recycle it or keep it!
Clutter doesn't bring you joy, if it gives you joy it's not clutter. Easy. For the very valid purpose of joy, don't let a popular idea decide what's valuable to you or junk at the thrift store. Stay true to yourself. "Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful". Beauty, truth and joy are generally more important than completing someone else's standards. Make peace with your self.
You never disappoint, always giving us the most interesting favorites. I have the same Baggu tote! I have been using it non-stop since I got it, love the color, it makes me so happy.
My sister collected old antique hand mirrors (which she loved) . With five siblings giving her hand mirrors she finally had to say for us to stop. What a great collection she had.
I tune in to your channel on a regular basis. Enjoy your stories including products, make up, your pottery and reflections so please keep connecting! You have a great soothing voice and appear relaxed and natural. Best wishes for this new year!
I’ve been trying to de clutter recently too. I’ve been struggling to get rid of small things. I keep putting them in boxes or bags, but that’s just out of sight out of mind! It’s tough, but at the end of the day keep what makes you feel happy!
I have also had conflicting thoughts about minimalism and marie kondo. I wanted to own only 35 items at one point in my life and now I realized that minimalism has not brought me joy. I regret getting rid of some stuff in my life and I know now that minimalism is not better than... non-minimalism and vice versa. minimalism is not the only way to be good. I like looking at my little pancake food eraser from my primary school days. I will never use it to actually erase anything. But it brings me joy to see it on my table top.
Em C Keep in mind that the pancake food easer is MK, cuz it brings you joy. Marie Kondo is not a minimalist. But I’m glad you figured out that minimalism didn’t bring you joy so you’re sticking with what does.
Happy new year Christine, I wish this year brings you a lot of joy and happiness. That mini ramen bowl was really cute, I love to collect small miniature things, would love to see a video about things that you collect and their behind the story.
Happy New Year, Christine! You always have such interesting stuff to show in your favourites. Now I am even inspired to get blue eyeliner. I never wear eye makeup! :D I hope to see more of you in 2020. Especially your OOTDs and apartment tours. I'm missing those. ;) Best wishes from Berlin!
I'm pausing at 3:00 because, I can't believe I've become so similar to my father eheh always pointing out dangers at home BUT I have to say that cords around the house are not a fire hazard, but inside a box they are. You mention putting a modem or something but those things can overheat inside and be really dangerous (is that real wood??). I think the box is cool to have under your desk if you pay attention to it and don't let anything overheat, even a computer charger can get extremely hot, so hide the cords but no charger inside 🤔
@@ashleigh1059 I didn't knew IKEA had one, that one sounds safe being metal can support the heat and cork is thermal resistant and hardly inflames and when it does it does it slowly, that's cool thanks for sharing!
oh man, what's your secret? how do you keep them from running? I've tried keeping them in the freezer cause I heard that's suppose to make them last longer
chrissstttiiine yeah if your tights only last 2 or 3 wears maybe look into how you’re wearing them. Or, you said you’re really clumsy so maybe that’s it. If you found a pair that lasts, that’s great!
i just got that romand velvet lip tint in a more pinkish color and i loove it so much i also use it like you i put on a lil bit and rub it with my fingers and it looks so good and it dosnt make my lips dry which i lovee and i also use the extra on my fingers for blush and eye color also i love japanese food replicas that tiny ramen is so cute
kinda random but I was wondering if you've tried a weighted blanket. I got one for Xmas and have been enjoying it. I think you should check it out, cool video like always.
@@chrissstttiiine yeah, the one I have is pretty warm. I run cold so it worked out. but maybe you could put in the freezer lol they're just ceramic beads but I have no idea just a thought.
Hey! I would love to know where you got the beautiful brown trousers you wore on a Instagram pic with the tote bag. Hope you see the message and reply ... greets from Germany!

I haven’t noticed a problem with that but good looking out!
RitaTocta Hmm, I never thought of that. I have a metal one (it’s white) from Ikea that has a cork top. Just another option...

i've always wanted one! i run really hot though and I always thought it would just be too much for me to handle
What’s the weight ratio you recommend?
@@xoxjelloxox They say it should be 10% of your body weight. Mines a little less (I did the math 8.4%) and I'm happy hope that helps
