Wash your bike after every ride with soap scrub then rinse hang by the saddle with the dropper up. You dont have to wash every ride if its dusty but it will prolong the bike longevity.
If people want hard core runs wirh huge drops, theres plenty of footage out there, but those are in the deepest, darkest woods and never as "pretty" as the green runs like this. Thanks for bringing something a little more relaxed and beautiful.
My man shreds 365 days out of the year now you love to see it. I'm a huge fan of that unicorn mount shot love seeing the scale and speed of these trails from that angle 🔥
The bike wash is designed for two things. Yes, to clean your bike, but mainly it's designed so that you don't bring 'dirt' to another region where it shouldn't be. Since you live in Park City, it's all the same, but if you took your bike from Deer Valley dirty and rode in the Pacific Northwest, that dirt from your tires and the like would essentially be bring in dirt not for the eco system. New Zealand requires you to bring in super clean shoes or have brand new ones on as it does not want dirt from other parts of the world entering its eco system.
Looking good Lucas on the bike. For being a beginner you are killing it. I have been riding for many years both cross country and downhill. Mtbing is so much fun and the more you get into it the better it is. There's some nuances to biking that you onlly get after riding for a while. Example, the leaning the bike over in corners so you get contact with the side knobs and the dirt which means you can lean it more and go faster through the turns. Lastly, the bike wash is up to you. if the bike isnt too dirty then dont use it. But if its covered in dust and especially if the mountain is muddy, then its a good time to use it. Just make sure after you use the bike wash to wipe the chain down and relube it.
hey man thanks so much for taking the time to share some killer info. i had no idea it was so much fun and im stoked to learn more and progress into the sport. i feel like it could be a good complement for the channel.
Not required to wash your bike after every ride....especially based on how dry and pristine those Deer Valley trails look. However, I would suggest cleaning your chain, using just a rag or chain cleaning system and then lube your chain after/before every ride. The drivetrain/shifting will stay in tune longer. I follow you because my primary Ski location has been Utah for 15 yrs. Between you and Evan Thayer, I get everything I need to know about Utah Skiing. It is great to see you getting into what many skiers use as Summer training for Ski season! I agree that you should contact Porter MTB. He and his sons shred. Also, he seems like the kind of guy that would welcome a local Colab. Riding with them would up your learning curve immensely. Would love to see you hit some of the other Utah resorts that do lift accessible MTBing. I really enjoy your channel.
hey man. thanks for taking the time to drop by and leave a comment. the mountains are incredible and im glad we are building a community of folks who all enjoy spending time in them. i would love to link up will people who are more experienced. there is so much to learn it is overwhelming at the moment. thanks for the support and maybe ill see ya out there one day!
I like the trails at Park City and Deer Valley, they're very green. At Mammoth we have more volcanic pumice, sandy textured dirt and lose front wheel traction easier... for falls.
Love deer valley almost more for biking than skiing. Videos are awesome as always buddy. Love that you are hopping on the bike. Hopefully you went to the concert there the next day. Old crow medicine show (band) was a great time, and the resort was gorgeous with all the greenery.
@@LucasCatania17your ikon gets you a discount on the deer valley season bike pass… hope I see you up there for sure. Be riding Sunday and then going to the concert sunday night
Hell yeah man this is awesome! I also Ski and recently started riding MTB more and trying to get better. I live in AZ so dont get to ski as much as id like but theres a ton of Mountain Biking around here. Love the video!
I think Deer valley is way better than PC when it comes to the bike park. Glad you got to experience it! I also think you’d have a lot more fun on a heftier downhill bike. It’s the same as having the right skis on a pow day. Thanks Lucas!
@@LucasCatania17 there’s a bunch of things! (I’m still newish to mtb but it’s similar to skiing in that there are a lot of nuances that affect your ride). Mainly the travel, anything over 150 is downhill focused, also the “slack” on your bike with is the angle of your fork from your front tire. More upright is for cross country stuff, and more angled is better for downhill. Also thicker tires ~2.6” feel much better on the downhill! Appreciate you Lucas!
Absolutely loving the bike content! I’m gonna have to fly out to deer valley at somepoint! The trails looks amazing! Also love the camera angles! Some really really cool unique ones I haven’t seen😬👍
You can get hitch extensions if you really want a bike rack off the back. Just make sure it doesn't twist to much. Or look into a cheap trunk mounted rack and strap it to your boxes.
i am just waiting for your competitive part to kick in.. where you get the bike that you want.. it looks like it is starting to kick in.. the Swifties have taken over Denver.. Taylors merch went on sale yesterday and she is playing tonight and tomorrow and all I want to do is to get away.. ha ha.. nothing against them but i like what your doing and where you are more..
Are you worried about injuries (not to jinx anything)? Always wanted to try this, but in skiing if you fall, 99% you will be fine. Here if you fall, 50% there will be blood and 25% you are going to the hospital or worse. Also those aspens look cool, but the rate of speed looks insane and the level of control feels way lower vs. if you are skiing through there.
yea of course its a concern, but its all relative. and its kinda just part of what ive created at this point. gotta do something to pay the bills in the summer.
Lucas brother….your Ikon pass gets you 50% off each day at Deer Valley in the summer. No need for a season pass unless you’re gonna go more than 7 or 8 times
Was just out in Utah at Deer Valley riding! Bummed we didn't cross paths! I'm digging the mtb content! Don't sell yourself short you can become a great rider even if you pick up the sport later in life. Check out Ben Cathros how to ride series for some tips on proper technique.
i might get a season pass..
Get after it brother!
sick dude i was out there today and tuesday it’s a great park
You won't (do it)
For an Unboxing/Review channel, there sure is a ton of action.
Yup……. The addiction is setting in, you’re screwed 😂

to extend your tow hitch Curt makes hitch extensions up to 2ft. which should clear your boxes so you can add a bike rack.
awesome! thats probably my best option.

thanks man. similar to skiing in a lot of ways.
Have you tried a rear angle, like angle your helmet mount behind your head or attached behind your set post? That chest mount with the ND filter was 👌

Yes you can hose the dust off the bike. Try not to use a ton of pressure on the pivot bearings, hubs, bottom bracket head set. Have fun
