thank you for the upload. love the American md-80s taking off. as much as I love the new paint logo on American, watching this made me appreciate the silver bullet look of the old logo.
fantastic job jay. people might not realize how busy O'Hare really is. one of the best airport there is thank you jay for your hard work always appreciated
I do love your videos! It's nice seeing all the smaller aircraft and A320's/737's of those airlines! Only get to see the heavies when they come to the UK. Will have to visit the US some time to see all those planes! :)
Jay's HD Aviation & Plane Spotting It's nice. I like their new one too, though. I think it's just American's way of using US Airways' flag livery for the merger, just adding color and expanding it on the tail. lol
Splendid as usual Jay!! Awesome variety of planes there and nice views of the aircraft banking after takeoff, not to mention those awesome sounds! Liked!! =)
Thank u for your awesome job! Right now i am in Rhodes, the hottest Greek Island! I have been searching for a hotspot to watch your new videos! Also, Rhodes has a big airport with various planes and airlines, perfect for planespotting. I am flying tomorow for Athens and i will record many vids!
yes, takeoffs are harder at Chicago O'Hare because of how the airport is set-up and where the spotting locations are.... this is about the best you'll get besides that one spot I was filming the heavy jets for.
As to 4R operations, if an aircraft had to go around/miss the approach to 4R the path would potentially encroach on 10L/10C (and possibly 9R) departures/go arounds. The FAA requires the separation standards to be maintained "just in case." So 22L gets used for departing aircraft....rarely does 4R get any business at all, unless operationally needed. This mandate by the FAA has also limited operations at other airports, such as DFW arrivals to 13R. I'd imagine also IAD runway 12 arrivals, as well.
stlflyguy good analysis. I grew up watching 4R arrivals almost daily but as of now they hardly do it anymore for exactly that reason... wish they would though. There's a really good spot or two for watching 4R landings.
O'Hare Aviation - Jay's HD Plane Spotting so true in 2013 when I flew on a United 737-800 at IAD it was really rare to see a 737 with the Schimitar winglets. Now it’s impossible to see one. Gee time really does fly by!

The NEW AA livery is AWFUL. What a bad design. The FAKE US FLAG on the tail, and the plain & boring BLUEISH WHITE fuselage looks like an AFTERTHOUGHT,
