So Happy your Mom got to come visit. It was nice Meeting her. We are in an Arctic Cold Blast expecting-25 below zero wind chills. Right now at 8:45 we are at near Zero. Ryan Hall Yall is saying that Louisiana & The Texas gulf is gonna get SNOW & much of the South is going to get Ice this is a Historic Storm never has happened in recording weather for the Lower 48. I made emergency candles with Crisco and birthday candle from Dollar Tree. Fill a pint mason jar with Crisco then push two candles into the jar. Good to carry in the car also. Oil lamps are good also.

I love the modern flameless candles, they stay on from 2,4,6,8, hours and do a good job at lighting the room, you can get them at lowes, home depot, walmart, or amazon
We just lost power here in the Midwest two weeks ago during the ice storm. It was out for 36 hours but some people were out longer. We used our generator and cooked on a camp stove. It wasn’t fun but we survived it.
That dinner looked soooo yummy! It is so hard to believe it is warmer there than in Dallas. My granddaughter in Washington state said the same thing. It is warmer there than here.
Winds clocked at 107 in Anchorage. Lots of crashes and fatalities on Seward Hwy. this past week. Be ultra careful if you drive up to Anchorage anytime soon.
What a sunny warm winter compared to last year (Kootenays), just hit a low for this winter today -11C, last year was -20 to -33C and no sun for 100 days. There is a place in Kenai that sells big LPG tanks, 1000 gal $3200 used, that should last a winter if not used for heat, but hw and a generator should last, as some places have summer access only for fill trucks.

What a great video! We live in Florida so staying prepared for the storms is a must. Blake what was the battery packed you used to plug your lamp in? We have a smaller one that has a radio, charges phones etc but doesn’t have the plug for a lamp? You’re definitely ready for whatever comes your way as far as storms without electricity. We make sure we stay stocked up with water, toilet paper too. Boy when they hear a hurricane may be headed here people go crazy. But honestly we do have to stay ready we get some that cause so much destruction. Boy your meal looked delicious! 💜

Im in 3 floor house and late Saturday going into Sunday we've had a nightmare which my housing do not class as emergency lol so we had leak in top bedroom they said roof fixed roof then went in room late sat and the ceiling was ready to go I luckily got new pool I put under try save daughters stuff and room underneath , then it all come down and kept breaking away all night top 2 floors lights went off today has been non stop workman viewing it and making it as safe as they can for now lights back on apart from 2 rooms water got to not looking forward to men in n out allday for weeks
