Ive never played NW. Is the world really this empty??? I play albion and you can't do anything without seeing other people and dealing with gankers. How active of a player base does NW have?

New World is currently very quiet, but the console release in October will bring a lot of new and hopefully return players back into the game.

@@aquarister I feel like I put it off for too long. I hope the console release brings tons of new players.

The game is pretty empty overall. 24hr peak of players was 4600 spread across 12 servers (approx. 383 per server), compared to Albion's 13.5k on one global server.

i played controller through steam and it was a bear to figure out how to fix things. I ended up taking someone elses settings and then made tweaks. I tried the controller support in game and found that it was much better to go back to steam . It felt buggy and didnt seem like it worked well sometimes. Most of all I neeed to be able to remap buttons which you cannot right now. Needless to say I am still using the non native controller

Good to know! I also hope they can add the ability to change the controls. How have you liked the overall feel of the game on controller? (Movement, combat, etc.)

@@aquarister I have loved controller and sort of have to use it because of carpel tunnel. Playing ranged toons is almost not an option though. Mouse has a huge advantage. Healing is very difficult too

I would be kinda shocked if they were porting to console given the already low player numbers on PC I can't imagine the investment would be worth the return on it but maybe they hope they will get a swarm of console players no matter how unlikely that is. With LotR MMO being a multiplatform release I'm sure the team can use what they learned here with implementing controller support over on that game. Sad thing is NW player count has gotten so low at this point there is no way they keep it going when LotR MMO releases unless something crazy happens with player numbers in NW.

Not a fan of mouse and key board. I like leaning back in my chair, I hate leaning foward. So controller will always be my go to and anything requiring mouse and keyboard will always be a strike against it.

The question is why would ags satisfy the minority of the player base they know we pc master race players prefer mouse and tkl keyboard this all means the game is coming to consoles

There are some players who need a controller in order to play video games. The fact that this not only opens the game up for console but also those other players is great!

A game in 2024 should have both K/M and controller, if it doesn't then is an arcaic game. Let's look at WoW for example, it has never had controller support which makes it less modern. Look how smooth FF14 plays on controller, it plays even better than K/M. Your game can't be stuck in the 2000s. Besides, if you don't play PC games from the couch or bed, you are missing out man. Your back will appreciate it.
