After putting for hours at varios golf stores, i finally went with Odyssey AI one. I think people have to get their own feel for putters but for me, the feeling of putter face connecting with the ball just gave me more confidence. The weight distribution and soft insert felt perfect for me to get my speed and distance right. And then for direction, and this maybe something people disagree with, but the three line alignment on Odyssey is just exactly what i needed. When i swing the putter im noticing the movement of putter through my peripheral vision and the 3 line aligmnet just sort of fixes the path in my vision that i need to follow. To each their own but after hours of putting and trying putters from SC for 600 bucks down to some used ones for 80 bucks, to me the Odyssey ai one (the one with white soft insert not the more exoensive one with milled bronze) came out far ahead than the competition.
Yes same I putted 2 hours at golf stores. Really felt like the taylormade head was to heavy, but in the end I had my 3 favourites were I did not really feel a difference so I just went with the one odyssey witch I liked the most from the looks, let’s see if it was a good choice
The fine art of putting is reading the green The flat stick can be adapted with practice, however I cant stand paint chips or scratches, which TM was prone too...
My issue is avoiding face twist. For most of the year, I was gaming a PLD Anser 2, and nothing on the golf course scared me more than a straight four foot putt. Yesterday, I spent about an hour at my local golf store with the AI One milled mallet putter. It was good. Liked the handle, reduction of face twist was good, feel was very nice. However, then I gave the Scotty Cameron Phantom X 12 a try. It looked huge, sort of ridiculous. BUT… my consistency was incredible. I then spent another thirty minutes going back and forth between the two putters and the Phantom X 12 was the clear winner (despite the stupid Velcro headcover). I pulled the trigger on the Phantom, played 18 holes today and made the three knee-knockers I had today for pars. Even my speed control was better than with the Anser. It’s not the most elegant putter, but I probably saved myself three or four strokes today if I had to guess.
Just got a myspider tour x L neck like scottie scheffler yesterday blue plate on the bottom with an all black pure roll insert. I took it out today for the first time and its night and day difference lets go.
After you figure out which putter style fits your stroke, it's all about looks and feel at that point. I prefer the very soft feel inserts in the odyssey O-works line of putters so I have a few of those in the #1 blade and 2 ball fang that I have been using but i just recently bought an 11 with the white hot face and it just doesn't feel as soft and good for me even though it feels so stable inside 10 feet. I guess in the end it's just what feels and sounds good to you and gives you confidence stepping up to the putt. Enjoy the channel, keep up the great work.
Both are great putters! I've hit with both, my dad has the Odyssey and my brother with the TM Spider. Both have such a high level of performance, my bag is TM so I prefer the Spider just to keep my bag brands consistent, just a personal preference.
Mid-handicapper - I have 2nd hand versions of both. Agree Spider amazing for sub 6 ft. Odyssey nice but with original weights (2x15g), I didn’t feel as confident as with the Spider. However… swapped weights for 2x25g. Head now quite a bit heavier and I LOVE it. So Spider 9/10, but Odyssey 9.5.
Also… All of you complaining about the tm putter chipping… It’s a putter not a hammer!! It’s simple… carry your putter to the green… take the putter cover off…. Drop the cover greenside… put cover back on putter walking back to the cart or your bag… You clowns putting a putter in your bag with no cover have zero reason to complain about your putter getting beat up…
I’m a full bag TaylorMade advocate and I’m a 13.8 handicap player and have won 3 monthly medals with the spider GT max at 35 inch,BUT I pulled the trigger and bought myself a custom TaylorMade MYspider tour double bend putter at 35.5 inch with the jumbomax st/1.3 grip and that combination feels amazing The thing that TaylorMade do great that sets it apart from most other brands is u can get that type of head customised to have a softer or firmer insert and have the true path alignment or not and have different neck configurations and u can also have different colour combinations to suit your eye which I did and went all stealth in black/white
Lag putting / speed control… is all about practice with your current putter… people actually think they can just buy a putter off the rack and cure this issue I their game…
I tried loads of putter and the spider tour was the best for me…a close second was a cobra 3d printed putter? I can’t remember the model name…in the end the spider had a better line on the top of the putter
Spent almost the full year with the Wilson Staff BL22 after going through more than a putter a month the year before. Really want to try the AI but I can’t see anything replacing what I’ve got for a while anyway
How much does the ball matter? A firm ball with an odyssey will roll differently than with the TM, no? Should we pair soft putters with firmer golf balls, and vice versa?
The ball matters 100%, but there’s so much more to it mattering for the putter. Optimal launch metrics for the wedges irons and metal woods are also crucial
I disagree with the speed control. I was having trouble with the Odysee compared to the Spyder. I was sticking 25 foot putts in the 2.5 foot range. whereas the Odyssee was very sporadic in range. I think it was because of the weight of the head for me.
2 sets of 3 balls is not enough, is it? You warmed up on the TM, and then putted better with the Odyssey. It just seemed like a subjective waste of time. Dou No reply needed. Thanks.@@GolfmagicPlus

Doesn't matter what it looks like, as long as it works!

Thanks for your comment! I completely agree. If you're confident, that's all that matters.

completely agree re the personal preference part, that's so important

Spider putters look battered in no time and the Odyssey putters have always looked great and felt amazing
Superb video lads
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just bought the Spider 38 inch counter balanced putter. Didn’t find anything better for me after trying just about everything out there.

Recently got the AI-One 8 TS. Really happy
Good to hear!
Im going to buy the counter balance version of the jailbird or spider. Which one did you like more?
Jailbird for me
I tried loads of putter and the spider tour was the best for me…a close second was a cobra 3d printed putter? I can’t remember the model name…in the end the spider had a better line on the top of the putter

I just paid $350 for a Spider Tour ,today!
It’s £300 in England but it would be around the same price even though it’s 350 dollars.
I have a TM Spider GTX and recently snagged an Odyssey AI One Jailbird Mini. As of now the Jailbird wins
Jailbird is mega! I'm currently testing out the cruiser, it's a joke
@@GolfmagicPlusreally? The cruiser Jailbird is no good?
Just bought my AI one today!!
Nice! You’ll love it
wouldnt the 7 be a mid mallet per MOI vs spider is full size mallet? surprised to see AI didnt make a full size mallet?
Very true - the ai one milled range has an 11, I imagine this will come to the the ai-one range soon
That may be the win win
How do these compare to LAB? What you using now ?
i'm using the LAB, think it is still better but of course more expensive

I tried both, bought the AI seven, the face feels SO GOOD
Just got the spider and the odyssey is super nice but the spider looks so good and I found alignment easier.
You can’t go wrong with either one
Spot on
I love the look of the AI-One 7 but I need a face balanced putter and don't like the look of the AI-One 2 Ball Putter
They do the #7 with a double bend(DB) shaft which makes it face balanced
How you getting on with the broomstick?
Good! Still in my bag and enjoying it from 10-20ft the most
Odyssey AI - one Jailbird mini over both of these 🔥
Love tha Jailbird

Got the Ai one T11 milled wow what a putter
buy 5 of the past model
U were hitting the AI much easier? Plus, I believe those models were 34", I believe u may need a 35"?
I actually play a 36/37, these were 35.
Most people will just order without even trying them, once they see a pro using it they want it. 😂
guilty!
gosh he talks a lot but doesn't actually say much!
thanks booms
12+ minutes of inconsequential babble, and not a single swing-weight mention. Where is the Magic?
thanks

There is no reason why you wouldn’t hit a putter out the middle, unless your blind
Could be the stupidest comment we’ve had for quite some time, well done
What an annoying review😮
Thanks
