Whitney, this “Wicked Game” live performance took place during the May 2019 season of a talent show for disadvantaged teens called “You Are Super” Diana competed in and ended up winning this competition. She first had her vocal range measured by Diana Ankudinova in 2017 she was only 13 years old and at the time her vocal range measured from a low of D3 to a high of A5. In 2018 Diana was 14 and again competed in the “You Are Super” competition singing Rechenka, a Russian folk song sung in Russian. It was during this 2018 performance that Diana already display the beginning of her low, rich, deep and resonant sound that would eventually show she is has a true contralto voice type, and again Diana Ankudinova won this 2019 competition. She was 15 years old in 2019 when she covered Chris Izaak's classic "Wicked Game", during a live performance and her voice really demonstrated what many vocal professionals believe, Diana Ankudinova is well on her way but not quite there yet to be called a true contralto. Diana has said she was not happy with her lack of a higher vocal range which kept her out of the more prestigious vocal academies. This was the semifinals of the show, You Are Super. The green light means the jury approves of the performance and qualifies the participant for selection into the finals. Diana sang, I'm only Human by Rag n Boneman in the finales. She won the all-over Grand Prix of previous winners and finalists from the previous seasons of this show. A prominent vocal coach/ reactor stated that Diana has at least a 3 octave WORKING vocale range that she can access at anytime. She does sing higher and lower on different compositions so not limited to that 3 octave range.

The back story to this unbelievable young lady is that she was abandoned and dumped at the age of 3 and left with a broken collar bone, she was taken in at an orphanage, she was adopted by one of the staff, she was introduced to music as a form of speech therapy because she was unable to speak after all the trauma she suffered, she was born in arsenyev in Russia, she was only fifteen in this competition, this was a competition for orphans and under privileged children called YOU ARE SUPER to which she won it twice, the guy who buzzed in last is working with Dimash, he has also worked a lot with the great LARA FABIAN, that guy has now taken Diana under his wing and setting her on the road to worldwide success, it might be a tad difficult at the moment with this war that's raging with Russia and the Ukraine, I always try to do a bit of research especially when I come across someone I really take to 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.

Yes, when Diana speaks her voice is a bit higher. But still it sounds kind of low. This is another great performance by Diana. I think young people don't know this song. This is a fragment of some tv show. Four people in the audience is a jury. When a member of the jury pushes the green button it is good for a contestant. Diana collected 4 green buttons. I can recommend watching the Diana's performance of the Russian traditional song called "Rechen'ka" ("Little river"). This is a masterpiece. Thank you for the reaction.

Diana has a standard female contralto (D3 - A5), maybe a couple of semitones wider (C3 - Bb5). Dimash's acoustic tricks are inaccessible to her. But her voice is polyphonic and terribly controllable - Diana can quickly change the musical grid to a non-standard one, i.e. sing between semitones!

The back story to this unbelievable young lady is that she was abandoned and dumped at the age of 3 and left with a broken collar bone, she was taken in at an orphanage, she was adopted by one of the staff, she was introduced to music as a form of speech therapy because she was unable to speak after all the trauma she suffered, she was born in arsenyev in Russia, she was only fifteen in this competition, this was a competition for orphans and under privileged children called YOU ARE SUPER to which she won it twice, the guy who buzzed in last is working with Dimash, he has also worked a lot with the great LARA FABIAN, that guy has now taken Diana under his wing and setting her on the road to worldwide success, it might be a tad difficult at the moment with this war that's raging with Russia and the Ukraine, I always try to do a bit of research especially when I come across someone I really take to 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.
