Thank you po Mr Sycip for my short but very beneficial audit training at SGV around late 60's/early 70's. The things I learned there would help me excel throughout my career in the Philippines and in Australia for more than 40 years. Maraming salamat po. God bless you for your big heart in helping our disadvantaged kababayans. Given another chance (e.g., resurrection), I would undergo my early training at SGV but this time a bit longer, say up to 5 years.
30:19. BOOM...BURN...Karen Davila, I admire you but you were burn on your seat. This honorable man have spoken what he has seen about Martial Law and Pres. Marcos. You have barked on a wrong tree. I salute you SIR.
It's really a great loss to the Philippines and I could say to mankind, the untimely death of Wash. I couldn't find the right words to describe my admiration for his such big heart despite of his accomplishments, unusual intelligence not to mention his hard earned material possessions. If only it would not be too much to ask from God , I would have prayed that a man of this kind be given more than 200 years with us. We may miss Sir Wash physically but his brilliant thoughts, genuine love , honesty and love for our country will remain in our hearts forever. RIP sir Wash God has prepared all your rewards in heaven where you rightfully belong.
Mang Sycip, congratulation ! you are strong n healthy for 92 years old , how do u do it inspire of too many projects n meetings to survive to this 92 years? I Just has one heltic job already kill my health i am an accountant n I know how hard the work involved . .I acts n fell tired like an old man. Mabuhay Mang Sycip! Keep up your good accomplishment for your helping your fellow poor Filipino. God blessed! Vicky US
What a heartwarming interview with Mr. Sycip. What an extraordinary man with a huge golden heart and pure intergrity in him! His life is a blessing to Phils.
Wow! He's still has a sharp mind at 92. I haven't even heard of meritocracy until recently from billionaires talking about their children. He is ahead of his time.
I salute this man. Honestly, I only know him through our accouting books as a founder/partner of SGV. I am not a CPA yet, but this man inspires me to do my best for my country needs me. This interview of him makes me want to crave for more of his views and opinions. How I wish I can talk or just see him personally. This made my day. A true idol.
May the Blood of Christ shield and protect, bless, keep and shine His face upon our candidates for Election 2022: VP Leni and Sen. Kiko, and Senators Chel Diokno, Sonny Angara, Migs Zubiri, Antonio Trillanes, Matula, Teddy Baguilat, Jr. Jojo Binay, Leila De Lima, Chiz Escudero, Alex Lacson.
According to Mr. Sycip... The development of human resources is the most important thing... whether it be a church, government, and business institution... this is remarkable warning around the globe, for human resources are now replaced by machines... suffering is inevitable so to speak... Lord have mercy...
He is amazing - I just wish Karen Davila was a better interviewer. She seemed more interested in the tabloid sort of questions. It would have been interesting to ask him to talk a bit more about the arrogance of power he saw in Lee Kwan Yew, for example, or the economic sharpness of Clinton. He went beyond her mediocre questions though, kudos to him!
Give this man a break. I think hes been asked that question way too many times. This is a good interview. Very fresh and I love how Karen made his interviewee get candid and laugh.
I cannot help but to notice that the "audio was softened/blurred" during his statement when commenting on Cory Aquino, he said, "... when she said she was not qualified to be the president..." Hmmmm. Great insights from this man... looking for other interviews 😂of him.
Hi Ms Karen👋 I was so amazed lestining to you and Mr Sycip because for the very first time I saw him and you believe it or not his eife is my father in law's sister
Let Toni Gonzaga interview M. Washington Sycip. Toni will let him finished what he wants to say and he can talk freely with ease and freedom. the interview here is so controlled.
See Cory’s people are corrupt ! Thanks for your vey honest remarks, it helps opens most of people mind... especially for saying Martial law bring good things to the Philippines economy ... this is contrary to what anti Marcos are saying...
At 30min+ mark, pagdating kay Pangulong Marcos, panay tunog ng telepono. Siguro umuusok ang tumbong ng mga Lopezes, sabay sabi ng host na wala ng oras. Don’t worry abscbn, we do understand you...Truth really hurts 😉
This is a really interesting interview. I think he is in a position to dish out the both sides of the coin. I wish he was made to finish his answers or ff up questions were made to surface the nuances of his answers instead of what seems to be getting on with all the questions prepared. Sayang. I hope someone picks up on this interview and make the most of the insight Mr. Sycip could have shared.
Mr. Sycip pointed out only one instance where Martial Law became beneficial. The worst effect Martial Law had on the country aside from curtailment of freedom, is it became an instrument for Marcos to amass a great amount of unexplained wealth.
Meanwhile my parents who lived through Martial Law said it was basically just like their normal everyday lives. Nothing changed besides having Passes to show the authorities. Now if you were a rebel in an armed struggle with the Government, then of course it would be bad for you.
hahaha some good things come from martial law, "name me one" daw. pag bad things "you have the floor" e di wow she should let him name all goods things happen during martial law. hindi lang yung puro negative.
Can someone brings me to Mr. James Sycip? It's been decades we've been battling for the occupancy of the Lot owned by James Sycip. From one association to another and more still we are chasing with Him. We really want Him to meet and finally ask about our real score on the Lot we occupied, because there is someone claimed to be the owner today. A lot of money wasted in forming different associations from one to the other. Please help us. Sources said that He is living in Manila, but we don't really know the exact location. Not sure if He is related to Mr. Washington Sycip either. Everything now is a question mark to us. Your help would be a huge victory for us and the agony of waiting will left answered. Thank you so much.
the time he was about to tell the truth about the significance of martial law napansin ko may tumawag sa phone who's might that be tapos Hindi tinuloy yong statement anu nangyari sa Baguio during martial law di ko n narinig sana lang tinuloy
TI was highly sought after na company ng mga applicants. Compensation plus bonuses was just top notch at that time. Sayang when the phone rang Karen said wala ng oras. I know people who worked there, may free isang kaban na bigas monthly tapos may gintong kwentas after serving a number of years and many more.
"The development of the human resources is the most important thing." Clichè, guys, but it is. Washington. Sycip. Kilig to the bones that I share the same principle with The Washington Sycip. I want to meet him.
Why do people glorify companies who pay their workers low and work them till past midnight on peak season. Wake up my countrymen and get a better employment scheme in a BPO or some other company
I agree definitely with Mr. Sycip that women in the top positions SHOULD NOT BE MARRIED. For me: NEVER MARRIED, AS WOMEN ARE THE SUPERIOR CREATURES OF GOD!

Karen Davila lacks the ethics of a true journalist. She treats all her guest to her tsismosa kind of broadcast journalism.
