Very well-paced. Doesn't get bogged down in details. As someone who knows nothing about Salesforce, I found this a very efficient way to receive knowledge. Satya is very personable, easy to understand and keeps the mood light. I'll listen to more of this series.
Many curious Salesforce developer ask How Salesforce is working?, is it just a data entry site? 😁 How It's useful for actual users? And many more questions in thier early days of training. This video will be very helpful for them. Great job 👍
Thanks for the video ! It's crisp, clear and to the point. Could you please give hard rule of when to use lookup and when to use Master-Detail Relationship ?
If the child record should be tightly coupled with the parent, then use a Master-Detail record. That means its security, like visibility, is determined by the parent. If the parent is deleted, there is no need to keep the child records, etc. Eg. Product and its features (If you delete the product, its features don't make sense). One example for lookup can be Teachers and Students. If a teacher resigns, students still exist.
Hi Team. I have joined the 5 day learning adventure session and I am unable to find the 'Position' value in "Related to" field. The steps are as below: Click Fields & Relationships, then New. Select Master-Detail Relationship as the Data Type. Click Next. For Related to, select Position. I am unable to find 'Position' value as it not available within the list under "Related to" and so I am unable to proceed further. Please provide your assistance.
in creating a Custom Junction Object for Job Postings, I am unable to find the position element in the given related to drop-down box. Can you please help me with the assignment
Open any Trailhead module with a hands-on challenge, for example, Recruiting App. Go to the first step, 'Create a Custom Object for Reviews.' Scroll down to the bottom of the page, where you can see Verify Step. Just above that, there is a drop-down with three dots. You can click that, and you can find an option called 'Create Playground.' Click that to spin your environment and practice. OR (Quick and Easy) Click on your profile. In that, you will find "Hands-On Org". Click on that and you can create a playground or use an old one.
I was doing day1 badge... could not find position object in the Related to dropdown so I created one myself... But now I'm facing issues with RELATED POSITION lookup filter criteria... Donot see POSITION: DEPARTMENT in the list, even though it is present in the actual table. Also, it is visible in the lookup field - RELATED POSITION: DEPARTMENT. Can anyone please guide me through this?
Hi Satya, While explaining master-detail relationship I could see the child object is created and related to parent object using Master-Detail relationship. My question is whether the child object(Test Drive) created is related to showroom app just as like vehicle object even though we haven't created a tab for child Object(Test Drive)
how can i make my access to other videos of this series .please can you provide all the videos of this series at a place , so that we need not to somewhere else. Thanks for such videos.
Can we add conditions to the relationships that we create. In the above example of vehicle and test drive, test drive date cannot be earlier than the vehicle model was launched. how do we add such conditions.
Hi, Thanks for sharing this wealth of knowledge. I'm stuck at the initial stage of the login into the application. I have done the signup using the developer.salesforce.com link and after that a mail is triggered to verify the account. After verifying the account it takes me to the login page and I'm not able to set the password for my account. Also I tried using Forgot Password option but it is not working. The reset password link received on the mail takes me to the login page only. Please guide.
Option 1: Clear the browser cache, reset your password and then open the reset link / Option 2: If you are using Chrome, open the browser window in incognito mode and open the rest link from there. / Option 3: YOu can create a new Org by signing up again. You can use the same email id, but give a different user name in the signup form. The username should be in email format (Please do not create the Orgs unnecessarily, though). Note: It is always better to use your Trailhead Playground for practice. How: Create a Trailhead Account and Click on your profile. In that, you will find "Hands-On Org". Click on that and you can create a playground.

If you are using Lightning experience, go under App menu in home tab and see what option is set for Sales app.
Open any Trailhead module with a hands-on challenge, for example, Recruiting App. Go to the first step, 'Create a Custom Object for Reviews.' Hi Satya,
While explaining master-detail relationship I could see the child object is created and related to parent object using Master-Detail relationship. My question is whether the child object(Test Drive) created is related to showroom app just as like vehicle object even though we haven't created a tab for child Object(Test Drive)
Tabs are created for Application not for objects , if i am right
No tabs are creating for objects
Objects are store in showroom application...
Ex:showroom is an application Like vehicles and all are objects
Do you have Salesforce admin videos.. I am a novice and want to learn
i am stuck created account in trailhead but not getting the first page, i am just getting learning page...
so how can we share custom app we created

In one if the step position option was mentioned to select but it was not present in the field and relationship
Can we add conditions to the relationships that we create. In the above example of vehicle and test drive, test drive date cannot be earlier than the vehicle model was launched. how do we add such conditions.
Hi Rajnith, This can be done with validation rules and it will be covered in the third video in this series.
Great
