This video explores the way in which Sir Thomas More tried to reconcile duelling vocations-- monasticism on the one hand and marriage on the other-- through his famous work, Utopia. It tells the story of his time at a Carthusian monastery, his subsequent marriage, and the way monasticism continued to influence his life.

Sorry, I only just saw this! The answer is yes. The Fourier school explicitly invoked Utopia. He was working in earnest. For me the question has always been, how serious was More?
