Little bit of Star Trek trivia. Jack Lord was offered the role of captain Kirk before William Shatner. He turned it down because he wanted more control over the series
Jack Lord was a compelling dramatic actor, unique in looks and intensity. I watched Hawaii 5-0 relentlessly. His history seems to implicate his cold edge offscreen as well. His short first marriage produced a son, whom he only saw once as an infant. His first wife never told him the son died at age 12, she sent him the death certificate instead! pretty dreadful relationship! is sometimes ironic how some people demise. He was such a sharp intense talker onscreen, but he developed alzheimers (signs of it at the end of the Hawaii 5-0 series) and likely could not remember lines/was less cognitive after decades of being so sharpminded. Reminds me of Bruce Willis scenario, a sharp witty character who is demising of aphasia, inability to remember or think/talk coherently.

I've only seen Dana Wynter look attractive on a movie 5 years earlier titled "Sink the Bismark!" that is posted on UA-cam right now.
