I was at 81 speedway when he won his third race of the year. Everyone was on their feet the last 5 laps cheering for him. It was an amazing sight to see
Kyle Larson is quite possibly the best to ever strap into a race car. I know that's an arguable thing to say but I have watched him in a 410 sprint car and I have had a love affair with sprint cars since the age of 5yrs. That's 48 years of spending as many Saturday's as possible at my local sprint car track. I grew up on Tri-Sac supermodifieds on pavement on Sunday and Saturday's was sprint cars on dirt. Now throw in the countless sprint cars both wing and non wing, midgets, super late models both dirt and pavement races I have seen and I can say that I have witnessed many drivers that were super talented. There are tons of guys that never got that big break and never got a chance to move onto different series. Moving up the food chain so to speak. If there is a race scheduled at a track that is no more that about 3-3.5hrs away I will go by myself. That's how much of a junkie I am. So anyway I am going to throw some names out and I am sure most of you have never heard of some of these guys but everyone one of them could drive the wheels off of anything they strapped into. Tony Stewart (of course) Smoke and get it done. JJ Yeley (yes!) Dave Steel, Sammy Sessions, Butch Fedewa, Gary Fedewa, Kasey Kahne can drive the shit out of a sprint car, Donny Shatz, Ken Mackey, Chuck Wilson, Marv Carman, Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell, Doug Wolfgang, Les Scott. I know I am missing a ton of guys that are great drivers but the post is long enough as it is, when I was a kid they used to run midgets that had a volkswagen air cooled engine that ran on Alcohol. They made a ton of power and that was the thing to run back before all the 4cyl development started. There was a guy named Les Scott. Les got burned real bad and one of his hands was pretty much just the palm and he couldn't hold onto the steering wheel so his brother built a glove that had a metal plate with a hole in the middle to go over a stud he mounted on the wheel. Les was incredible in a midget. So if you need to see proof of Kyle Larson's pure skill in a race car go to 8:14 of this video and watch Larson drive that sprint car through the infield, basically never losing touch with the lead and he pulls off one of the best last corner passes I have ever seen. I wish he would give Nascar the finger and just run with all the different divisions he ran while he was suspended. I know I'll miss him this summer. Sorry for the length of the post. Sometimes I get to ramblin' on and on. This time I'm switchin' to glide. Peace
The midget driver that had the burned hand and the glove that attached to the stud on the steering wheel was Mel Kenyon.. Sorry for the mistake. Its been many many years since I have seen Mel and Les Scott race. Plus you have to take in account the years of smoking grass. LOL It sure is great to live in Michigan. Stop at the dispensary and you have many different options to choose from. I bought some chocolate pot leave candies and a couple of days later my wife told me to quit eating them because they are making me stupid to quote her. God I love her! The best thing is I buy some that go with a vape It looks like I am smoking a vape tobacco one. That is the easiest way to keep my 13 year old daughter out of the loop. I don't smoke until they go to bed because I don't like having a buzz when I am with my daughter. I am finally going to the races this Saturday. I am going to the only track in michigan. I am hoping for at least 15 or 20 cars. It all depends on what the 2 travelling series we have are doing. I cannot find where either series is racing so they all come to Butler Motorspeedway. This will be year 49 that I have made it to at least one race. I started going at 4 yrs old when my mom married my stepdad. That is where the love of the sprint cars came from. I did make it to the Little 500 this year. If you don't know what it is search for it on You Tube and you will see just how freakin crazy it is. Non-wing sprint cars running 500 laps on a 1/4 mile high banked paved oval. This year was the 73rd annual I think. If you are a race fan and you live somewhat close to Indianapolis Indiana you have to make the drive to see it just one time. I drive almost 4 hours every Saturday of Memorial day weekend. I have gone the last 4 out of 5 years. I missed one year due to an ordeal with cancer. I am all good now. They do live pit stops and they push them right back out into traffic and if the car doesn't fire off and the push truck ends up on the track he just cruises around the bottom of turns 1-2 and pulls back in to get the next guy. Sprint cars are not made for live green flag pit stops but they got it down to a science. It is freakin kiiller. The first year I went I got goosebumps when they came out of turn 4 3 wide for the green flag. It takes something pretty scary or freaky to get me to react. I have seen sprint cars go in the stands. I saw I guy flip his sprint car and the first flip ripped the top wing off and the second time around he came flying out of the car and he landed on Doug Wolfgangs nose wing. That should tell you how long ago that was. It was a world of outlaw show and that dude never should have even unloaded. He had a pavement car and he was trying to run it on dirt. It was a stiff ass brick and it would not lay over on the left side and get sideways in the corners. It went thru straight up and down. It was horrible. Sorry for the post. I cannot sleep and I am out in the shop bored to death. Peace Peace
So nevermind the undisputed King Steve Kinser who had seasons like this, i get it forget the past because what we see now has to be the greatest? your right what was i thinking🙄
I have a secret hope that Kyle Larson wins everything there is to win in NASCAR and says "Yeah this was easy if only you guys understood what it takes to be at the top on dirt."
Its funny how dirt racers think dirt racing is harder. Search the Isle of Man TT on youtube and tell me if there is any dirt race harder than that. Pikes Peak even became more dangerous, harder and faster when they paved the road.
@@johncarl5505 you think Isle of Man is hard?? Just search up military combat and tell me if Isle of Man is harder… it’s only gotten deadly and more strenuous…
I look for him to win Bristol dirt. I think that is why Chase is running the Chili Bowl and even the Snowball Derby, to tune up for Bristol dirt and get better on short tracks. Chase needs to run the Rolex 24 Hrs if he is allowed.
Rick Nelson ... Good news, Kyle just got a ride with Hendrick Motorsports driving the 5 car 2021. (Note: NASCAR had him complete a sensitivity course.) Thinking about it, maybe there's a group of people who could also benefit from such training themselves. Ya think?

Kyle has more than enough talent in stockcars and with 6 wins in cup, 12 wins in xfinity and 2 wins in trucks Kyle will definitely win again in NASCAR and he may even win a championship.

9:00 its just unbelievable how hard Larson sent it on that last lap. Unreal.
How did he not wreck after getting sent into infield? That was crazy the car control to lose only 1 second maybe through that deal.
He went video game mode
this isnt career highlights people , this is only 2020
Maybe so, but this still was one hell of a year for him
Great run considering he had limited starts in sprint cars even.
That’s what the title says too👍🏾
And he was whipping up on guys who have been in WOO for 40 years or so.
If Larson strictly raced WoO he would win every race
I’ve seen 45 plus years of dirt track racing that young man can flat ass hustle. He dances on the the cushion as well as all the greats.
