- When I first saw previews of this, I thought it may be a sequel to megacollab "Postbluane" due to the awesome art and fantasy theme. It also features some of the same creators. After playing just the first two seconds, this is confirmed by the signs in the background. I think it's cool to see creators make sequels to their levels, especially when it's for one so good; "Postbluane" is undoubtedly one of the nicest art megacollabs I've seen in a while. It's also a sequel to "Twenty Four", another amazing art megacollab. However, I'm happy to say that I think "Astralith" takes the quality to another level. The theming remains as focused, but the quality of the art seen in the background and foreground is even higher. There's even more detail when appropriate, while the art style itself remains smooth and pleasing throughout. I also really like the variety of landscapes and colors used for depiction. While parts are varied within, the level as a whole also has an "overarching narrative" thanks to the overall progression of the level towards a really cool climax, especially thanks to the cutscenes. I think this helps the level be a bit more memorable aside from just having really good art.
Gameplay tends to be an issue in these art-heavy levels, at least for me personally. It can sometimes be difficult to tell what is a solid object and what is not. For this level, though, I think the team handled that nicely overall. The difference in color brightness and shading from layer to layer helps a lot, and these choices make sense with a stacked roster of artists like this. There's also some clever usage of 2.2 tools like motion blur and camera controls, making the upcoming gameplay clearer too. I will say that a couple parts around the middle do have some tricky orb timings and transitions at first, but that is relatively easy to get down with a practice run. The level's length is also worth considering. All in all, I think this will be an Easy Demon.

I gotta be real, ever since I saw Postbluane it's being one of my favorite level. I got a ton of inspiration from and wanted to make a solo with the same theme but I can't do this on my own. This started when it was just me joking with IRELL that I would join another collab like this. It was so unreal that he actually did that. Building this level was a BLAST, the whole process was so fun to build with everyone, even there are still some troubles during the collab. But getting this finish is feels something that I never had in my life, this is for me the best megacollab until now. Everyone working for each other parts rather than one person working on it. I'm so happy to get this level out with a lot of good creators. I've made a lot of friends during the collab as well.
I can't tell enough how much I love this and Postbluane. Thank you for playing!

oh my god. i went in to this expecting a great level and this blew expectations out the the water wtf. i can't remember the last time a level genuinely made me this speechless, everyone did a PHENOMENAL job. i know some of these creators personally, and seeing their growth and development has heen insane. i wholeheartedly believe that this is the best level of 2024 (so far! we'll see what the rest of the year has to offer :] )

The train part is just, gorgeous.... I would be completely fine if this was the first Mythic classic level of GD's history.
Fun fact: this level just got mythic and it's the first non-platformer mythic in GD history, congats to all creators who made this masterpiece.

Ahhhh Lost Memory is one of my favourite Sakuzyo songs and I always envisioned a level that would truly replicate its beauty and this is as close as it gets, absolutely amazing work!

Idk, despite the masterpiece deco, it's works fine on my phone tho, i cleared it, well it's framed at train part and lagged at first half of cinematic part but i think I can't be helped, naturally there so much things going on in those part
The second Mythic lvl
I didn't expect to see a sequel to postbluane, especially considering how critical I recall ilrell being of the result (which I think was partly unjustified though I understand that talented artists are often their own biggest critics etc). Although generally I think art levels like these are best left to one creator to build, when a team of highly experienced and skilled creators comes together like they did here, the result can also be quite stunning in its own way. The roster of creators is absolutely stacked, and every part looks quite good, though some (particularly loco's, wik's, and the train part which 6 creators worked on) stand out to me as exceptional. Aside from the superb art in virtually every part, something I particularly love about this level is how smooth the transitions are between parts. Here I can especially see major improvements compared to postbluane, and can only applaud the merging team for doing such a great job. They excelled at what so many mcs failed at.
That being said, while postbluane was an awesome level visually and conceptually, from a playability perspective I found it a little disappointing. Some of the parts weren't very optimized (with the ldm not helping much and failing to remove enough objects), and the gameplay was mediocre for the most part. I haven't played this level yet, and I hope it's an improvement over postbluane in that regard as well. Striking a balance between a good looking + unique art mc that's well optimized and has good gameplay is extremely challenging though, which is part of why I think art mcs are generally best left to the highly skilled creators, and that most art creators should otherwise opt for solos imo.
This came out less than a month after I finished school so I will never be able to airplay it 😔

I dont know how but somehow they made this even better than postbluane. Everything is so well made in each part to fit the lighting (especially the chilling fairies in the final part shoutout to them), not to mentions the colors they did this with its insane. One of my favorite levels in the game for sure.

Such an amazingly astonishing and etherealy beautifull level made by some of the best creators in the game , i love the overall aesthetics , the theming , the different refferences ( such as the astral express ) and overall the level gives me that magical nature vibe the same way that emerald realm does ! ( and lets be honest if BLI thinks that your level should get mythic u know u've hit GOLD )

One of the songs I had already heard from Sakuzyo, a very anomalous, illustrious atmospheric artist. More than a hundred compositons, though most are less than of a thousandth view, a very underrated artisan. I will only let it to you to find and discover the rest of them yourself, there you might even find compositions that are far better than this, mayhaps in your own perspectives and experience.
