Don't get confused. Mobile charger is to convert 120-240ac current into DC 5volt.
And TP4056 module to Convert 5volt to 3.7voltto charge the battery. Can ignore TP4056 module if ypu do not care about the battery. It's mainly used to protect battery from overcharging.
Diode is used to decrease the voltage from 3.7volt to 3.4 volt because it was overheating. Simple. 🤓

But bro... You are making more complicated because we can simply charge the battery with the tp module without the old charger and plug.. It's meaningless to use the old charger... As we can charge it with micro USB in the tp 4056 module. 😡😡
Edit-It will work without the diode... But giving the diode will increase battery life.. I appreciate it. 😊😊

Charger is to convert 120-240volt into 5volt. And tp4056 to convert 5v into 3.7
Diode to decrease the voltage by 0.3 volt. and it lets the LEDs glow without overheating.
