My memory of Lo Mang is crystal clear. I went to the neighborhood theater to see the Five Deadly Venoms. My friend and I were hyped to see it but walked in the middle of the movie. The scene was the fight in the courtroom they carried him in and tried placing him in the Iron Maiden he broke free and the fight with him (The Toad) and Wie Pie (The Snake) started,I knew at that very moment I was watching a great Kung Fu film.
My first Sifu also has the last name Richter. Amazing martial artist, he taught Southern 5 Animal Shaolin Fist, but eventually left the school to his students to open a Shiatsu and Reiki clinic
New subbie. I also loved him in "The Kid With The Golden Arms". Great interview. 🔥 I didn't know that he could speak english. My first time hearing him speak english.
What an amazing and valuable interview! Thank you for bringing this to all of us. Also, gotta say, it’s pretty badass that you can hang in the same room as such legends and be so well-informed on their work and their history. I wish all people who sit down to do an interview did so with such care and knowledge for their subject!
This is great. For years I never watched Shaw films on mass, only saw a few as to be honest I wasn’t aware of them. So after getting the Shawscope set I’ve binged all these films - especially the Venom mob films, love this guy and Phillip Kwok especially. Great video.
I’ve watched the Five Deadly Venoms five times and now I’m being chased to watch it another five hundred times and I will..best kungfu movie by the Shaw Brothers!
I am a big fan of the 5 Venoms and their careers. The great Lo Meng is a legend and it's so amazing you know him and were able to do this. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing material!!! I’d love to see you talk to Don Wong Tao! Even though he didn’t really feature in the high budget kung fu movies (which was a shame) I thought he was awesome ! I only know of one interview out there with him & I know he speaks good English. It’d be amazing if you could interview him.. although I know it may be tough.
why hasn't there been anyone doing an interview with the Venom mob altogether..Philip Kwok, Lo Meng, Lu Feng & Sun Chien..and Wang Li?? wouldn't they be cool with that idea, no..?
Years ago, I once heard the rap group "Wu Tang Clan" met these former Shaw Brothers "Venom Mob" martial arts actors. I wish you would have asked him about that, and what he thought about them. Actually, Rza helped make and star in an Asian 'partially' martial arts film. I know the question is part silly and part serious, but I wish you asked him anyway. Ha!
Kung Fu Genius, sometime BEFORE the Fame of The Venoms & their movies 🎥, he co-starred with Bruce Li in " Soul Brothers of Kung-fu " with Carl Scott ( Taiwanese actor real name Ho Chung Tao) who was a Bruce Lee imitator & film legend himself. If U can find him & tell him he still has fans who 💙 & worries about him , that would be GREAT 👍 😀
@@TheKungFuGenius He's does your Taxes 😲?! Get Out 😆!! You're putting my leg 🦵 😂🤣!! I didn't liked the way Toad was killed in 5 Venoms & I still watched it to this day. I hate how they treated him in the Ip Man films. I wish we'd had a film with himself, Chi Kuan Chun and Leung Kar Yan at their peak. You are one lucky bastard, KFG. I'm as green as the Toad ;) with envy.
Alex.. wait till you see the way I can do the forms. It’s very shaolin snakey. 😂I’ve blended moves like GAANG with JA JEUNG BUI GEE and CHEUNG CHOY. In that order. 1. LEFT HAND CHIN SAO BUI GEE (threaded rushing fingers)from under the elbow. “Hits the throat” 4. RIGHT HAND CHEUNG over flat FOOK SAO COVER. Shhhh be hitting different. 😂
Lo Meng was the SHIZ….his character was so I Posing and convincing that his character Al ost had to AlWAUs die in the venom films because he was clearly the biggest threat to the bad guys…and his character always died because of some kind of cheap shot or plot device. Toad Rules!

Nice interview! The venom mob made some of the Best marital arts films, I've ever seen. My personal favorite from them was The crippled avengers
Couldn't agree more!

This was awesome
Oh man those guys are my childhood. Awesome. Please do more thanks
I chatted with Lo Sifu a few months ago... hopefully next time I'm in Hong Kong I can arrange something!
@@TheKungFuGeniusmuch respect sir thank you.
Great interview
Dope!
That's super interesting! Can't wait for part 2 with Turbo Law. Did you ever get to interview Luther Chu?
Sifu Kuttel - Kung Fu - Tai Chi unfortunately no, when he was visiting us he was on someone else’s dime.
and Dai Sifut 😂😂😂
Great interview! Try and interview Philip kwok.
I would love to!
Awesome. LO Meng is one of the greatest.
No doubt
At 2:38 that huge urn! How?!
Saar Waisman but be a movie prop, but he was (and still is) strong AF.
LOVE THIS!!!!

Bagged one.😝🤛found one I hadn’t seen.

They don’t all live in the same place, and many of them are retired. Lo Mang told me Sun Chien lost an eye in a fishing accident.
@@TheKungFuGenius WHAT..?!? oh man...that's tragic! when did that accident happen?
well, i still hope someone can make the reunion happen.
Brilliant!
Thank you!

I’ve discussed this with him off camera, but you’re right I should have asked him!
He's still so handsome. 💖
Agreed!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Why did he think the ad for the Shaw Bros school was funny I wonder?
Eric Rosenfield Given the level of his English and my other interactions with him, I think he meant to say that he “thought it would be fun“

Yes, he does my taxes every year. He also makes an awesome soufflé.
