fantayzia! i think i found the solution to the problem i've been having with my glitching family!
okay so i just updated a lot of mods today and i moved my mods folder from my sims folder to my desktop and i opened the game and tried playing one of the families that was affected and i was able to go into the game! i found out it WAS a mod issue!
as i type this, i am currently doing the 50-50 method to see which mod is affecting the problem (i have a feeling i might know which mod or mods is doing this)
update: i just finished the 50-50 for my mods and found out i had two different versions of two or three different mods!! i deleted the older versions and now my game is getting better

Weird, a little girl ghost but sims kids don’t die?
kids have always been able to die but only from very few causes like fire, drowning and meteor strike. i had a child sim die from drowning in a mod review video once 😭
