Is the effects canon or head canon? I didn't see anything about the effects on the body while reading the wiki page on water breathing, or is if from another official source not cited on the wiki. I really want to read more about it.

Likely mentioned by the creator or in a side book, I still have yet to find where it came from but it is really interesting honestly and it would make sense due to the breathing called ‘Dead Calm’ and that's probably why Giyuu doesn't use it that often.
