I am a little confused. So, what is the difference between a switching loop and a broadcast storm. Is it the same? Is a broadcast storm in a way pile up of switching loops?Like you start off with switching loop on a network and each time a switch receives a broadcast frame on its ingress port it sends out the frame on each egress port and because the switches are in some sort of circuit loops multiply on the network causing broadcast storm? I reading various answers to what a switching loops is some say it is different. Some say it is the same. I have even seen that the difference between a switching loop and broadcast storm is that in a switching loop is that the initial first frame is a unicast frame that started it all and somehow ends up in endless broadcast frames. While a broadcast storm starts off with broadcast frame.
Yes, pretty much right on. As the switching loops increase it turns into a broadcast storm. Think of a rainstorm. Each raindrop is a loop and the storm cloud is the broadcast storm. All the looping frames together is called the broadcast storm.
At first I was think WTF bro haha you OK! but got what I needed from it.
Loool. This is too funny. But a great explanation
This is hilarious, great explanation
So..Some where out there there is a picture of me looping around for ever?
Thanks
thank
you for explaining this
